Friend...I'm sorry you are in the midst of a pity party. Maybe it is an extension of the one I had a few days ago. Is it contagious?? I understand how you feel but just know that I think :You-Rock:

Remember too, that it is not uncommon to have a bit of depression following surgery with anesthesia (anesthesia is a depressant after all!) Your body took a wallop--physically and psychologically. I am confident you will feel much better in the morning. It takes a bit of time for your mind and body to recover from a surgery.

Sleep well!

I was wondering about the anesthesia, if it could do that. I have been in a pretty good fog all week. Thought I was lifting out of it, until tonight when I hit the brick wall! :Bang-Head:I'm sure that is most likely part of it, as you have explained. Thanks so much!

Oh, that has to be a HUGE part of this. It's not so much the MS per se but purely physiological. Like I said the anesthesia is a depressant -- all depressants bring you down, down, down. I had a tonsillectomy a year ago. (DON'T ever get one of those). And I felt out of sorts, funky, and depressed for many days afterward. It took awhile to come out of it. Just make sure you are getting enough sleep and eating healthy. Stay away from sugar this week -- that can also cause lows (after the highs). :winky:

Well, I've ruled out rest tonight...

...but, aside from the hot cocoa... I have been eating nutrionally this week. Thanks!

Most of the time I'm upbeat, if realistic. Once in a while though...I can go from "Everything is gonna be all right" to "We're all gonna die" in the blink of a teary eye.

I try really hard to find a balance. I feel the need to be realistic: everything is NOT going to be just like the good ol' days. But I can choose to make the best of what I've got.

When the dark times hit, I remind myself not to let my emotions rule my thinking, and I hold tight to God's unchanging hand until daylight comes.

Some sound advice and good humor in the other posts you've received. Looks like you have lots of friends, old and otherwise. Step away from the hot chocolate for a moment--I'm going to get a running start and dive in!

Sending strong thoughts for a new day full of sun and marshmallow creme, and a lot less post anaesthesia.

Ew, Ew . . . :Excited: . . . I'm old! :D

I always find I recover slower from just about anything now, especially surgery. I think that we don't have a lot of excess energy at the best of times, then add on some drama, and down we go.

It's a bit of a rollercoaster, friend, but what goes down, must come up. :D

Geez, I slept through the whole party. Any better today, F2U? It's a new day with a wide-open amusement park and no lines. Choose your ride and hop on! They all end eventually.;)
