Default Walking Pneumonia

Went back to the doctors today as inhaler for asthma was not helping and they now say I have walking pneumonia, possible ear and sinus infections, and allergies. They gave me a prescription for arithomycin and told me to take it even though it gave me horrible IBS the last time I took it. The doctor also told me to eat a bland diet and that might help. I also have to use a nasal inhaler and have a med (capsules) for coughing.

Erythromycin made me really sick when I had to take it once too. Called the doctor and they told me to eat plain yogurt with it. (Yuck!) Didnt help.

If it makes you really sick, you can always call the doctor and tell them you cant tolerate it and is there something else you could take...

Yuck, Barb...so sorry.. I happen to love E-miacin. It absolutely stopped a bad sinus infection, more than once for me, in it's tracks. I am one of the lucky ones, not allergic to it.

I hope you are feeling better real soon..

Aww, Barb.....I'm sorry you're having to deal with this. I can't take arithomycin either - makes me very sick. I can't believe there isn't something else they could give you. Maybe if you take an antacid before you take the medicine that would help - although some medications say not to take an antacid prior to or after the dose.

I hope you feel better soon. Wish I lived closer to you - I'd bring over some homemade chicken rice soup!

Since I am allergic to penicillin and sulfa, they said I had to try this one again. It has been several years since I used it. It is one the meds that you can not take an antiacid with, but I can take my nexium. I spelled the med wrong on previous post -- azithromycin.

aw, geeze barb, that blows!

if it helps any, I've been there...

except for added fun, I had pleurisy as well.

coughing blood, and couldn't breathe.

ear infection, sinus infection, SNAFU !!

honey, my HEART goes out to you, as I recall it all too well.

rest, fluids, and more rest.

from da jungle
