I've had a headache since last night.

When it started, it wasnt migraine proportions. I took a Midrin (migraine pill) Thought it went away, but woke up a few hours after that with head pain still there, and still not migraine proportions. It's been lurking in the background all day, just waiting for it's chance to kill me.

This afternoon our cleaning lady showed up (late) and was cleaning the house. She found a new cleaner for our kitchen floor...scented (she claimed it was almonds). I'm scent-allergic and it's a trigger for migraines.

We've told her no scented cleaners unless it's an orange scent (orange doesnt set my migraines off for some reason)

So, here I am, with an actual migraine. My forehead and the very top of my head, feels like they're going to pop off, the back of my head feels like it's squishing my brain a little, and I'm not sure, but I think this is making the mild numbness worse in my right foot that I have left from my "pseudo"-exacerbation that I had earlier this month.

I checked with the pharmacist (wish he could speak clear English) and he said that Midrin (which contains Tylenol) does NOT cause rebound headaches. I hope he's right (and please dont tell me that it does cause rebounds, I'd kind of like to see if the placebo effect will work on me if it's not true)

I just want the headache to stop. It's annoying and a lot painful, and it's making me a bit...grumpy.

I dont care what the neuro tells me. I think MS can cause migraines...maybe this is a new lesion forming or a few hundred neurons dying. It's probably just a headache tho.

I hope the Midrin I took about 10 minutes ago kicks in soon. I think I'll go listen to a Harry Potter book on my computer with the lights turned out.

When I used to get migraines all the time, any noise would be absolutely intolerable. I don't know how you can listen to a book on tape with a migraine! I would have to go to a very quiet room, totally dark and cool, with NO NOISE...and that was after my meds. I'm not familiar with midrin, but if you are on pill #2 for the day, I'd say it's not working and you need something stronger!

MS doesn't cause Migraines but you can get headaches with MS. Especially when you have visual problems with MS. As far as I know there is no causal link between Migraines and MS. I've got both but was dx'd with Migraines long before MS and have the Migraines under control with meds now, thank goodness! I too have triggers but with the Topamax, the triggers rarely work anymore.

I hope your headache subsides quickly.

I've started having migraines since being dxd with ms. I never had them before, wasn't really even headache prone. During my initial exacerbation I started having severe pains like being stabbed in the head with an ice pick. They were all on the right side, and that's where the majority of my lesions are.

I don't see how they can defitively say that ms and migraines are not related. They can really only say they don't currently know of any link. It makes sense to me that either an inflammatory response in the brain or misfiring nerve cells could cause headaches.

Do you take Topamax or another preventive rx? I'm still getting loaded on Topamax but it does seem to be helping.

been dealing with headache for about 3-4 weeks now actually named it chucky it did stop for a while when on the medra pak of steroids,

but have noticed, the last storm and storm b4 and todays storm I have had the nasty little $%@%^%^&*%& chucky back again. I take topomax and its not doing me a lot of good lately nor are aleeves, exedrine migrainses helped a wee bit

ice helps for me, heat doesnt help mine helps others they are talking about possible ON but at same time doc things this latest flare is a spinal and the headache is related to that seeing I am not a reg headache sufferer.

but have noticed the weather has played a role lately just thought i would throw that in, eventually i will get better at just saying the main point right off. seeing i know how much pain you are in I hope it goes away real soon and you feel better too I have been wearing blue blocker sun glasses around the house lately it helps,

I also was not prone to headaches before my dx. I would maybe get one a year, if that. Now whenever I have a flare I get some degree of a headache. Sometimes it is the "balloon-head" as I call it or it is a full blown migraine.

I hope you feel some relief today! I myself have been dealing with a headache for 4 days now. No relief yet. I am sending you some relief hugs

I take it as a preventative. It has been the only drug I've been on that has ever helped.

I said MS doesn't cause migraines. Headaches are listed as a symptom of MS. I've had Migraines long before I was ever dx'd with MS...about 20 years or more. According to the research I've done, there is no causal relationship. And Yes, I agree, it could very well be due to the location of the lesions. Who knows? I don't.

see i never had headaches till about 7 8 yrs ago when i started to have ms SX and every since i get nasty migraines now

my neuro says its not related then turns around and says that spinal lesions can cause headaches, all i know is they bite, and for those of you who have suffer for long times with these headaches you have my sympathy, these thing sucketh mucheth

I just woke up after sleeping for something like 10 hours...not exactly sure when I fell asleep tho.

I dont feel the migraine/really bad headache right now, so I'm hoping it's not hiding and waiting to come back out as soon as I go outside or walk up the stairs or something.


My entire body feels like someone was beating on me all thru the night, but my head isnt hurting, so I dont mind being sore everywhere else.

Maybe I just needed a lot of sleep...

I was starting to wonder if it was a spinal headache, because when I would cough or sneeze, I felt pain coming from my back that went up into the top of my head.

I hate migraines.

Try some sinus medication...could be allergies. Afterall 'tis the season!!!

Just some helpful hints Erin. I hate headaches too. About the only time I get them now is with sinus stuff or during this dreaded IVSM infusions!!!

Oh, I know part of my problem with the headache was allergy related (the cleaning lady and her almond scented floor cleaner, made my headache spike yesterday afternoon)

It just felt a lot worse than the usual sinus headache, and it apparently needed to be beaten down repeatedly with the Midrin until it stayed down. It felt like it was coming from my neck and was going up into my head. Most of my allergy headaches seem to come from the forehead or my nose.

It did seem to get worse everytime I coughed or sneezed or laughed. (watched Boston Legal on Tivo last night...love that show)

I know I have a problem with tree pollen, and most of the trees in our neighborhood are just now starting to green up.
