Thanks for the update, Dedra, but I too, am sorry to hear that Chris's MRI had changes. He's a tough kid, but as a Mom, worry comes natural.

Please let us be here for ya. I understand how it feels to have an ill child and feeling helpless to be able to "fix" them is a hard place to be.

You are a terrific Mom~~ please take care of yourself too!..

Don't have any words of wisdom - I just wanted to send you hugs...

I don't think I have ever responded to any of your posts - I don't post a whole lot and often, I just don't know what to say that hasn't already been said by the time I read - BUT - I do keep up with you and Chris and will keep you in my prayers.

Thanks Kitty,

Sometimes reading and researching are scarier than not knowing - he has 8 lesions in his brain stem and from what I understand from reseraching - that's bad.

Chris has a great attitude and is either hiding his feelings from me or is just confident and faithful to God that everything will be ok.

Chris is a very smart young man. Put it in God's hands Dedra, it's all any of us can do.

In the meantime, call me or email me with any questions about home modifications if you need to, OK?

Hugs.

Thanks Sandy,

I guess I just don't understand all these lesions and yet he seems to be doing well overall.

It's just scary not knowing what the future brings and I know worrying doesn't do any good.

So far things seem to be ok though so I thank God for that and just pray we get the MonSter under control.

Dedra, my best advice is to live day to day. Chris needs you to be strong and not worrying so much. He loves you and knows how you worry. Trust me, I know through Jim. I had to finally come to the realization that Jim's condition is not the same as everyone else. It wasn't easy. None of us knows the future and because of that I put this whole thing in God's hands. Once I did that I was able to relax a little. I realized that Jim needed me to do this not just for myself, but for him too.

Sure, there are days it tries to creep back in and take over. Especially when Jim's condition doesn't improve or when I see some people with MS doing better than he is. But Jim was dx'd 20 years ago when they didn't have the advances that are out there now. Chris will be offered so many new advances that we didn't get to try. Even the new stuff out there Jim can't try due to complications.

Just hang in there and come here to vent whenever you need to. It's scary, no doubt there.

Maybe the Ty is helping, but he has had it so much rougher that it is not as visible on the MRI yet. It may still be slowing down his normally very aggressive disease activity.

My thinking is that without the Ty, he might have had many more lesions than the ones that showed in this one. Since he is doing better overall, that does offer some hope.
