Wouldn't that be wonderful!!? That would make our lives SO much easier.....and I for one would be more willing to take my meds regularly. I hope this happens....it could make a lot of lives much easier.

I know I wouldnt take weeklong breaks from my shots if I could just pop a pill...

altho, you got to wonder what horrible side effect the pill would have. We'd probably turn blue and have to all become Blue Man Group groupies.

I had a discussion yesterday afternoon with a neurologist about oral meds for MS. There's a couple in trials - one is actually in phase 3. So maybe in 4-5 years...

I can hardly wait.....literally. I am so tired of sticking myself (even if it doesn't hurt - it leaves it's mark) every other day. I would gladly take an oral medication - even if it meant taking it several times a day.

What makes this different, Tom, is that it is not a new med, but a new way of delivering meds. The oral meds they are working on right now, don't seem to be working, because the stomach acids break it down before it gets to the blood stream.

The new capsule or tablet delivery would be with a protein gel covering, that would protect the med, in the stomach and let it go into the blood stream, full force.

At least, this is the way I understand it. I hope it works, too..
