Default What's the difference between sensory and motor sx?
What is the difference between sensory and motor symptoms?

I know sensory symptoms are things such as buzzing sensations, nerve pain, numbness, tingling, etc. But I'm a bit vague as to what motor symptoms would be.

motor symptoms would be symptoms that affects your movements...such as spasticity or spasms, muscle weakness, etc.

to me motor has to do with mobility. i could be wrong but that's what comes to mind.

My neuro says motor has anything to do with mobility. Drop foot, tremors, etc. The sensory is numbness, burning, etc. He said the best way to think about it is motor symptoms are what others would notice and sensory are the ones that you feel but others can't really see.

Would muscle spasticity which causes painful muscle cramps be motor or sensory? Or both?

It would be motor. Go read the website that I gave you the link to. It gives very good explanations. Spasticity and muscle cramps are both listed under motor symptoms!

That liink that Cheryl provided, lists spasticity and spasms as motory symptoms.

I have found that site to provide a breakdown on pretty-much all the symptoms we have.
