Hi everyone,

Monday night when i was sleeping, my left leg cramped up soo bad i couldn't move.
The pain was beyone words.

Hubby helped me to bathroom where i felt like i was going to pass out.
I didn't know if i was going to be sick or faint.
After a few minutes i felt well enough to go back to bed with a cool cloth.
I had vertigo until yesterday.

Well last night the same thing happened when i was sleeping, only it was with my right leg.
It still hurts today.

Could this spasticity?....
I see pcp on thurs for results of my mri .
My pcp keeps changing his mind about whether it's ms or not.. nothing has been showing up on mri's , blood work etc.

I'm currently taking elavil for nerve pain.

How could i explain this to pcp so he is understanding this?

Yes, exactly like a charlie horse..
I've never had pain so bad.

Explain it just like you did here. Your PCP should be able to figure out what you are talking about.

Definitely sounds like spasticity. Explain to the doc as you did here.

I get that fainting/sick feeling when the pain gets bad too (mostly from the hug). Not fun. There are meds that can help such as baclofen. Talk to the doctor about the possibility of these meds.

I have had the exact same thing happen. It would take 5 - 10 minutes of massage to free up the muscles. My neuro increased my baclofen and has me taking more at night to help.

This may also just be a one-time thing (hopefully), but for some of us, spasticity responds very well to daily stretching exercises too.

Personally, I would always try the more natural methods available to us, where possible, rather then immediately resorting to meds to try to fix something that PERHAPS can be rectified another way.

Moose gets the leg/calf cramps in bed too. Hate 'em! Usually come on when I stretch my legs with toes pointed. Have to grab my cane to pull my foot back up to an 'L' shape.

Lady Express gave good advice. One thing I can add is that if you're out and about sweating a lot, the lack of salt/sodium/potassium in you can bring them on. My Dad gets them prety bad too.

Hope you find a fix for it soon.
