Default recommendation for newly or recently diagnosed (or anyone!)

I just read a new book written by a physician who got diagnosed with MS. It was so hopeful and helpful (but I guess that's what the title says! -- When the Diagnosis Is Multiple Sclerosis: Help, Hope, and Insights from an Affected Physician

Anyhow, I wanted to recommend, esp. for people still grappling with a diagnosis. She gives advice from both the patient and doctor side of things. Now it is somewhat expensive because it is not in paperback. But maybe you can get your library to order it? I highly recommend it. I find it VERY soothing and reassuring. It's a good book to have in your library.

I'll bet if you called your local MS Chapter they'd have it in their lending library.

Sounds like a good read for newbys, Natalie.

Twinkletoes, you are a fountain of information. I never knew the MS society had so many resources. First I saw a post you wrote about some interesting trips you have been on and now a lending library. All ways to cut expenses.

Thank you for the suggestion about the book Natalie8. It would be interesting to read about a doctor's perspective.

You can also get the same book from other individuals on Amazon.com at a reduce price. (I think the lowest I saw for this book is $26.91.) Just check out the link on the right side that says, "More Buying Choices".

(That used to be an insult to the vehicle. Now it's a sad commentary on the price of gasoline!)

You might want to post this in the "Resources and Useful Links" sticky too.

Thanks for sharing. I hope this doc mentioned something about visiting the forums like this one, that are so helpful for newbies.
