Default Drs. ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Went today to the drs. to talk about the results of all the blood
work he had me take.

The dr. I went to is my phc not neuro for the ms. I lost all the
hair on my legs, arms, underarms, head hair growing very slow.
Also fatigue more severe, and brusing very easy, cold all the time,
itching skin, and yes feeling depressed at times, not sleeping well.

He tells me all the test came out OK. The only thing is that my
cholestrol was high, (which we knew). B12 high, folate high,. Has no answer
for that, because all the tests were neg. for what he was looking for.
Just gave me a prescription for the Chol. and said he cannot understand
why I have the other problems.

I know you are probably saying go to another dr. but what kind of a dr.
I ask questions and get merry-go-round answers.

Has anyone experienced some of the complaints I am complaining
about. I know with the ms some of the symptoms are the same. What
really concerns me is the loss of hair and high B12 & folate.

Thanks for listening

Have you brought this to the attention of your Neuro? They might possibly have some idea of what's wrong. I'd take him the results of your blood work and ask him what he thinks. It might not be a bad idea to have another round of blood work done and compare the results to the first ones.....mistakes do happen and something might have been missed.

I hope you feel better and find some answers.

You know I'm dealing with hair loss and have high B12 and high folate and Dr doesn't know why. All my other test were OK. I do belive I have MCS tho but don't think the B12 or folate has anything to do with that.

Joyce,
Others will probably have some better ideas but I am thinking an Endocrinologist might be a good place to start. My daughter threw a fit for a long time, for me to see one and finally I went just to please her and found that I have Hashimoto's Disease (advanced).

The Thyroid Hormones can do all kinds of things to you and as I recall, hair loss is a biggy problem with thyroid conditions (though not one that I experience). Also - thyroid conditions are common especially amongst us women.

That is just my 2 cents for what it is worth - based on my own experience.

Oh and by the way - my primary had told me that my thyroid was just fine - but I insisted on the specialist who ran test that he never even considered. The autoimmune antibody (or something like that) was elevated out the wazooo on me - and that is HIGH !!! LOL

Best of luck in whatever direction you go !!!

my suggestion is that you see a rheumatologist. They are very good at figuring out "medical puzzles" and offering diagnoses. In addition, some of your symptoms sound like rheumy problems. Good luck!

i'm sorry you're experiencing all these sx's.
but, they're not in your head. they are real.

i know what it's like to go between drs looking for answers and explanations.
i wouldn't give up.

you're gotten some good suggestions.
i think an endocrinologist is a good idea.

Thanks everyone for your input.

I have my usual appt. with my neuro this Friday. I am going to bring
him a copy of the blood work results.

I do have a Rheumo. dr. that I go to because I have osteoarth.
Also was dx. with fibro. I am one big mess.

Somewhere I will get an answer "I hope"
