I was watching this video about having 2 servings of anti-inflammatory foods can reduce inflammation up to 50%.. Ooo. .I am ALL for that, esp for the lesions in my darn neck. I wonder if Bing cherries counts, cause I don't like the other ones you put on sundaes. I also don't eat tomatoes, darnit.. I need to watch this video again and find foods I can eat or juice I can drink. I'm a picky eater!

You can buy cherry juice at a health store. Around here it is about $6.00. I drink about a third of a cup a day. It is strong flavored, no sugar, but sweet enough.
If you google anti-inflamation diet, about .com I think has a very good description. Dietitans use it for arthritis patients. There are night shade vegetables to avoid, such as tomatoes and potatoes, etc., if you want to try the whole idea. Also meats are considered a source of inflammation, especially red meats and pork, I believe. |

Monique, Tart cherries (bing) are the ones they are discussing. Have you and your neuro contacted any of the drug companies (dmd's) for their financial support programs? If you are a student, I would think you could qualify.

Well, I am a grad. student but do have income from child support, etc.. but I did apply to Betaseron's assistance program but haven't heard back from them.. I also applied for a clinical study for the oral pill and am waiting back on that as well. Other than complete numbness on my left side/hypersensitivity, fatigue, and the inability to sleep well.. I really can't complain! ![]() Monique ![]() |

Red meat is inflammatory as is saturated fat.
Fish that are high in Omega 3s are anti-inflammatory (salmon, herring, mackeral). Turmeric and ginger are also good for their anti-inflammatory properties. |

I have to have meat every once in awhile..or I'll go bonkers! I do take B12 vitamins, Omega 3, Vitamin D, Super B-Complex, Vitamin C&E, and Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc. As well as the prescribed stuff from the Neuro. Maybe I'll make more fish.. but gosh, I still need a bacon cheeseburger or steak every once in awhile :/

I try to eat the rainbow daily! With brightly colored veggies like red peppers, spinach and carrots, etc... Also, at least two servings of fruit a day like a red apple, banana, orange, canteloupe etc... I try to do that each day and feel a lot better when I stick to it. I have fish a couple times a week too, and take fish oil supplements. The muffins I have for breakfast have flaxseed and 100% whole wheat. I also have oatmeal a few times a week, a big green salad several nights a week.
I really think it helps! It's sort of a challenge for me, getting as many nutrients into my day as possible. ![]() ![]() ![]()
