I went to my first GTG (in Phoenix). The food was good and the company was better.
MS can be a disease of isolation, it is difficult for me to get up the motivation to get out. Even though I was familiar with the names and had an idea of who they are, meeting a person face to face is different. It is giving a person the full dimensions of body and personality. No doubt, it was out of my comfort zone. But it was nice. If there is a GTG in your area, I recommend taking the chance to meet the MS Neurotalk people. Although I HATED "Forest Gump," there was a good line spoken by Tom Hanks and seems to apply to the experience. I can only paraphrase it. "Life is like a box of candy. You never know what you are going to get." I hope everyone takes the opportunity to meet in one city or another. Cyn |
