Default Hear say for new med?

My sister overheard talk of working on a new ms med that makes your body think it is pregnant, reason being that when you are pregnant the ms goes into remission. Has anyone heard anything about this?

Estriol, I believe is what she is talking about.

It's been in clinical trial for awhile and there are men in the trial. I don't think they get pg, tho! LOL!

Let me do some searching and see if I can find some of the clinical trial information.

I've been reading about this since I first found out it was possible that I had MS. Now that I know for sure I have it, I'm intrigued by this medication.

Mostly because, if it makes your body think you're pregnant, then, I guess it would mean that women on it would probably not have a particular body function happening every month. Right??

If that's true, I'm so there for wanting to try this med!

But, then again, I'm also seriously intrigued by LDN too.

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0323104949.htm

Quote:
In all, seven institutions from around the nation will be involved in the two-year study. The investigators plan to recruit 150 women who have not previously been treated for MS. They will be given either estriol along with Copaxone, an MS drug currently in use, or a placebo along with Copaxone. "That way, no one will receive less than the standard of care," Voskuhl said. The team will measure relapse rates over the course of the trial.
According to this, only women will be in the study, not men. Interesting.

Here's the clinical trial enrollment information:

Cheryl, they've actually opened the study to people who have been treated with other meds before.
