He gave out the final exam as a take home test as a bonus for the people who stuck it out and came to class! Wheeee - I am so excited. We don't have class on Thursday just need to drop the final off before the end of class time. I had a final speech in my second class yesterday which I did on "Ending the 24 month waiting period on Medicare" and got an A+ - he was very impressed and told me he would write all legislature..... :) and a lot of people came to me during the break and also said they would too. I told him I couldn't make it to class on Thursday for I had to have my injection at the same time and he was fine with that. Wished me luck and said I did a great job on my speech once again. I was feeling crappy physically but all the great comments made me feel good emotionally!

I am a little nervous about the 3 days of injections - how is is going to make me feel? Will I get sicker than I am? Any advice on what I should do to prepare? Or should know before I get there?

Chambore - AMN & RW that sounds good to me..... when does the party start?

Way cool on the speech! You rock, Char and that was an important awareness campaign no matter how small. Just imagine how capable you are when you factor in the fact that you were under the weather for that one! Excellent!!!!!

Injections or infusions (IV)? I only did the daily injections once and had no reaction to them that I can recall as difficult.

The only thing that the IV does to bother me (only a little) is the infamous "metallic taste" in the mouth. The fix for that is to keep a pocketful of rootbeer or ginger flavored candy. For some crazy reason it works to eliminate that odd taste sensation.

Other than giving yourself a chance to rest, which you already know! is to beware of the false high-energy day(s) that can fool you into a premature sense of victory. Even on the feel-pretty-good day, you must keep things low key!:hug::hug:

Oh Char I'm so sorry you've had to spread yourself too thin these days!!! The 'roids can be very interesting for me :D:eek:! I had the iv solumedrol for three days a while back. I only slept for a total of about 10 hours in 3 days :eek:! I drove my family nuts :D. I hope you feel better soon :hug:!

Ditto what everyone else said on the IV steroids. I never did injection steroids, but the IV kept me up for 80 hours or so... Beware the ugly angries too! Even the toothpaste cap set me off!

Rest, HYDRATE, and try to stay calm in the face of 'roid rage!!!

Glad to hear things went well with school!!

David was standing over my shoulder when I opened up the thread, he told me to tell you RW "Charlotte doesn't have an angry bone in her body, she doesn't know how to be me." I laughed.... :p

It took about an hour and a half to do the IV - I am really tired so I am going to head to bed and sleep while I can. She said it may make me wired but so far it hasn't. Crappy taste in my mouth but still tired!

Turned in my last test for the mod, classes are over!! :Dancing-Chilli::Dancing-Chilli:

Thank you for all your support and encouragment - as I and many have said in the past THIS PLACE IS THE BEST!

BaxterTheBunny 06-25-2008 09:31 PM

Oh hon  Hope you start feeling better soon.

LOL! Well Bless his heart!:p

Tell David that the man over heah said the same thing...until he saw me on roids...:D He treads very lightly now if I HAVE to take them. Last course, last year, before Tysabri, when we went on vacation to SC he BEGGED me to wait until all the festivities were over to start the orals.

They didn't have the same effect as the IV, thank goodness! The few times I felt it coming on, I just walked out the door and onto the beach and cooled down. I am now a firm believer that anyone who has to do IV should be awarded a beach vacation during the process!

I hope you're feeling better today, Yabbit...

RW - I will tell him for sure.... today is my last day of IV's.

Sally - The numbness is still there but on the right side but I had one time during the night that my side was so numb that I had a hard time moving - so much better than the last week. And no charlie-horses at all! I was pretty wired and haven't slept much but I can take it if the rest goes away! Slow but sure I am ready

Thank you everyone for your hanging in there with me - the support has been great!
