Default Face in So Swollen...

...I guess it's the oral prednizone. I'm on my 13th day...14 more days of tapering to go. Will the swelling go down quickly after all the meds are gone?

They have helped me to be able to walk. But, I'm disappointed I'm not yet back to normal. Still very weak and off balance. I've done quite a bit of collapsing in mid-step, just from getting off balance and not having strength to regain contol.

This just stinks! Just feeling sorry for myself.

Thanks for listening.

I had the swollen face, too, when I was on the oral steroids. It's such a bad side effect. The ones nobody can see are bad enough...

I think it took maybe a week or so after I finished my tapered dose that I noticed the swelling going down. It doesn't last forever - it just seems like it does.

Hi Moon Face! (That was my feeble attempt to cheer you up).

I get the swollen face everytime I am on the 'roids. It does go away. You will not be permanently like this.

Also, the feeling sorry for yourself goes away as well. I think all of us have had our pity parties when it comes to exacerbations. Hang in there Friend. You will be fine.
