Default I woulda made a rash decision.

If all you had to do to go on disability was sign up, and not have to go through the "application and approval" process, today I would have signed up.

By noon, my balance was gone, my fingers were numb, my legs were aching, and my brain was oatmeal. I was ready to smack the next person who said, "I don't have my key again, could you go get my mail for me?"

I was ready to smack the landlord, smack the guy who parked across the loading dock, and pretty much smack the next person who looked at me funny.

Thirteen months, fourteen days. I can make it. Really.

I think a lot of people would "sign up" if it was that easy.

They do make it ridiculously hard, from all I've heard though.

You can do it!

You know B2Y, I think today should have been "National Incompetent Day." I tell you, I was on the phone with so many idiots who couldn't do their jobs, I was ready to pull out what little hair I have...making phone calls to get things done that should have been done right the first time...why can't people just do their own jobs right...granted, I am not perfect, but for crying out loud, I have enough to do just to get MYSELF through the day unscathed!

I feel for you. I truly do.

I hope today is better for you B2Y. That's just the nature of the beast....one day you feel like crap and the next day you feel fine. I've learned never to make big decisions on a bad day.

Do you have some vacation time you could take? Or maybe some other kind of leave that wouldn't affect your retirement eligibility? I probably already know the answer to that....I had weeks and weeks of vacation time that I never took just because it wasn't worth the hassle and headache of what I would have returned to.

I do hope today is a better day for you.....

Wow, thank you all for such kind support for my whining day!

I am taking all the leave to which I'm entitled under FMLA, which adds up to about half paid leave, half unpaid. I'm essentially working 4 days a week, on average, which I guess is technically "part-time", but it doesn't feel like it to me!

Maybe it was something in the air yesterday--the town clerk was ready to smack somebody, too!

Cherie, they DO make it hard. I've heard so many horror stories of people waiting month after month with no income, wondering if someone in an office somewhere is going to dismiss all of their suffering as "ineligible". I really think it's easier to keep working (if I can) than go through the anxiety of jumping through all the hoops. Like I could jump.

Today I'm "off", headed to town for an appointment with my PCP and do some errands. It won't feel like a day off by the time I get home, but at least I'll be off the cement floor for a day! One day at a time!

i hope you can keep getting thru your work days.
use all the other days to be gentle with yourself and set rest times in between the errands.
