I don't go out that much, but Mosquitos have never bothered me. Yes, Cherie, they must smell a MS rat..LOL.

Mosquitos and fleas create Mt. Rushmore size mountains on me. And itch.... boy, does it itch. I'm probably the first person at the vet to get flea and tick stuff.

I used to get allergic reactions, so did my oldest son and now his daughter. This is a pic after a Labor Day picnic last year. We put bug stuff on but couldn't get close enough to her eyes I guess.

She was on liquid steroids for a bit, that's fun to try to get down a 2 yr old, yucky taste that can't be hidden in anything.

She got bit on the back of her arm last week, swelled all up and looked nasty.

I hope she outgrows it like her Nana and Daddy did.

I tried the dryer sheet thing and the dryer sheet itched almost as bad as the bites LOL any tip I should know?

Pesky bites

I went thru a time when a mosquito bite left huge whelts on me. I was having lots of skins reactions to everything there for awhile and the bugs left marks for days.

I was told that you should avoid eating bananas cause something comes thru the pores of your skin that they are attracted to......

That same persons told me to drink lemon in your water or real lemonade while outdoors because skeeters don't like that smell....and skeeters are actually attracted by the carbon dioxide that we exhale....so maybe the lemon masks the scent??? Worth a try.

Here in Alaska we are experts at living with this pest. The citrinella candles are not as good as the Coleman Mosquito wicks. Burn these in bulk around the area you plan to hang out (Ex: back yard) then for those who manage to get through get a product called "After-Bite". It helps immediately and works the best, IMO. As soon as you get the bite, apply this product immediately. I keep several around the house and cabin just waiting for the inevitable.

I swear, and I try not to, heheee..that I get bitten more in my house then outside. AND in my car while driving!!

Now I carry that citronella oil spray and I smell..well...like Citronella !!! I felt badly for the lady who sat next to me at the movies. LOL Its not a bad smell, fruity.

Even when I am sleeping I swear something is biting me under the covers....whats up with that??

Here I avoid the outdoors as much as I can, and get bitten up at home !! Gonna try the dryer sheets next.
