I once had an epidural, that was like that, non-pregnancy related, but for another surgery I had. I believe that it was a student. I said, stop. I'll take the nausea that may result from the surgery, just stop.

Some people, just aren't born with the ability to administer needles of any kind.

Feel for you there, and others that have had issues around LP's and other procedures, similar

Lumbar Punctures are not the best feeling. The first time I needed one it took them 3 tries to get it. 2 in the ER by the doc who couldn't get it done right. Then I went in for a floro guided and it was done right that time. Its awkward uncomfortable. The last time I had one done it was completed by a doctor while a few intern nurses and residents watched. He was in, out, and done pretty fast. I don't think its a common enough procedure for too many docs to be good at it.
