I'm sorry to hear that Paxil isn't doing the job for you. especially now when you really need it. It took my anxiety completely away, but I did notice if I was under extra stress, a muscle relaxant or Valium would do the trick. I didn't have to do that too often, but once in awhile..like going to the dentist or trying to get a TG dinner or Xmas Dinner together, may call for extra help
We are not doing anything this year for TG, just for Christmas. I may cook a Turkey Breast and some Stuffing or let Krogers do it, just for the leftovers, which is what I really like..LOL I'm sorry you've been going through all this MS and Flu Chit. I'm glad your DH is home though. At least you don't have to worry about him on top of everything else. Have a fullfilling and peaceful Thanksgiving Day.

Hi,
I'm new to this and to Paxil. I've been on 10mg. for almost a week and my anxiety was better for 3 days and today it is worse than ever. I know it takes a while to get into your system but when will I notice relief? I'm always nauseas. I'm not sleeping well but the dr. told me to take it at night. I haven't slept well for a long time, Crappy marriage, 4 children, (2 are multiply disabled) and lots of stress. I think that I've always had anxiety but it is now out of control. I feel like I'm going crazy. I'm 43 and also think that I'm perimenopausal. I've always been an upbeat happy person. I can't even leave my house! My husband doesn't believe in anything like Paxil. I started on Celexa but hated how it made me feel right away. Paxil isn't as bad but I'm having awful anxiety and panic I'm not sure how long I should go with this drug to see if it works. Help!!! |

Hi Ellen, welcome to Neurotalk...happy to have you join our rowdy bunch.
It took me about 2 weeks for the Paxil to kick in fully. I started on 10 mil too and felt much better when upped to 20 mil. It was a Godsend for me, especially for the anxiety/panic attacks. Give it some time and if it still doesn't do the job for you, there are many others from which to chose. Let us know how you're doing.

Hey guys,
I was on lexapro for 3 to 4 years. My anxiety was so strong before, that I was in a fight against, my mind. I couldn't leave the house, etc. I went on Lexapro, and it was great. I could finally sleep and so on. My anxiety very under control, though I was actually sleeping. I started to notice a few months ago on the lexapro, that I was starting to get depressed. And I would stay up all night. A few days ago, I was switched the Paxil. It is keeping me up at night...insomnia, again. This is way worse than the lexapro. I could wake up in the middle of the night then not be able to go back to sleep. I feel slightly more motivated though I can't be up all night. No other side effects. I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder. I recently heard that Trazodone was reformulated into Oleptro. Any thoughts? |
