If possible!
So I quit smoking. Which resulted in more sneezing (good, nose is working still!) and better taste sensation of course. What has happened however... is a feeling of pain behind my eyes, especially the right eye. Like, I can feel it when I close the eye and rub it lightly. What could be causing this? I do know my throat feels cloggy and I felt like I had a fever (but I didn't actually have a fever) the other night. Do you think it's possible to get a touch of a cold or flu right as you're quitting smoking? Strangely enough, I haven't been 'sick' for 3-4 winters with much (cept the MS of course!).

My aunt got really sick after she quit. She said her doctor said it's because the body is eliminating the tobacco like a withdrawl symptom and possibly lowered her immune system. She felt like she had the flu. Your not the first to feel sick after quitting. I've heard this from others as well.
Keep it up, you can do this! ![]()

if I remember correctly between hits in health class, the cilica are now doing their work cleaning junk out and I know thats the throat area, but the sinus ears and throat are all connected
my first guess is a sinus infection

I had that type of a reaction to quitting too - just your body making healthy adjustments !! (your sinuses need to clear)

Actually. I was always prone to canker sores as well since I was a kid.
I noticed with smoking, they went away after 1 or 2 days, and were not bad at all. Well wouldn't you know it... I have a canker, that's REALLY SORE, and is not getting smaller hahahaha! SALT TIME! Thanks for the replies. It makes sense. I'm just getting lots of sleep ![]()

First, let me tell you how proud I am that you quit! that is a hard thing to do, and I am so happy that you found the courage to do it.
it sounds like a detox of sorts. Your body needs to get rid of all of that old tar, nicotine, and so on. increase your vitamin C. For your canker sore, you can use Llysine in tablet form. it really helps contol them OR you can buy powdered Alum in the spice isle in the store. Wet your finger, stick it in the powder, then then rub the powder covered finger into the cancer. it should be mostly gone by morning. you can keep reapplying if you like all day. the Alum completely dries out the whole thing. We used that so much as children. its cheap and cheerful. Must be POWDERED Alum though. Your body is going to be stressed while you adjust to a nicotine free life. make sure to take your daily vit. and give yourself a break. DRINK lots of water to help flush. It gets MUCH better. I promise! Be a good parent to yourself and say "nope, you cant have a cigarette. you can have an apple, or you can go for a walk, but no cigarette." YOU ROCK! ![]()
