Default Australian Senate Lifts Ban On Cloning.

This will be for Stem Cell Research Only. I hope the USA will follow suit.

Hi Sally, I'm an Australian here and saw your post as I was just listening to the news here. They're positive this will be passed in House of Representatives this month now that it's been finally passed in Senate. The vote in Senate was very close, but they expect it'll go through in House of Reps. much more easily. The news here just now is saying that human embryo cloning will be in place by early part 2007.

Quote:
THE Senate passed the human embryo cloning legislation last night but deleted a controversial provision that would have allowed the use of animal eggs in the procedure
Sydney Morning Herald.

With the Democrats regaining control of the House, and possibly the Senate, maybe there will be enough momentum to once again get fed funding for stem cell research-- unless the Pres. vetoes it again. Eventually it will pass, if not now, in a few years.

Default Republicans

If the other Republicans that are up for reelection in 2008 want to keep their jobs, they had better quit blocking stem cell research.

I won't vote for anyone that is not in favor of this research and I believe there are a lot of people like me.

I just wonder if stem cell transplant is going to be the answer for us. Will it or can it solve the underlying MS. It may turn out to be a temporary fix, and the MS will still be there to wreck havoc again??????

I don't think the cure is going to happen in my lifetime, but I'll sure put in a good word for you....on the other side.

Hugs,
