Default A vent about Shared Solutions

I got a call last night from someone at Shared Solutions. Some guy called to talk to me about a program that they'd sent me info for earlier this summer that I eventually signed up for. It was to get my copaxone for free. Normally I pay $35 a box, my insurance pays the other trillion bucks for it.

So, I was accepted for this program in September. They sent me a letter and said that I wouldnt have to pay the copay any more.

So, imagine my surprise that I've had to pay for my last two boxes. Apparently SS tried to fax the information to my pharmacy, and the pharmacy didnt get the information somehow.

So, this guy last night, had no idea that they'd screwed up and hadnt sent my pharmacy the information about the payment program. He was kvetching me out because he said I hadnt been ordering my C. He hadnt quite explained himself at first, and I was like...I just ordered a box today, and ordered a box last month...

When I finally figured out he was calling about that payment program, I told him that I'd been trying to call someone at SS and kept getting the "that person is not here, we'll call you back" line. I finally get him to understand that somewhere along the line SS had screwed up and hadnt informed the pharmacy.

So, he tells me that I'm going to get a call back tonight, which I did. The lady who called me back told me that she tried to fax the information in september...four times....the fax machine at the pharmacy didnt answer, so she gave up, and apparently didnt try again until the guy last night found out that there was a problem.

The thing that annoys me is that the guy last night was so rude to me. Treating me like I was stupid or something. I'm sure he probably gets a few customers that are sometimes not all cognitively there (as far as I know, I'm all here cognitively) but that's no reason to treat me as badly as he did...and I hope he's not treating other customers like that too. He kept interrupting me with the "you have to take it every day, and order it on time...." line, like if I wasnt doing that that he would sic the Shot Police on me or something.

The lady who called me back tonight told me that he'd written in his notes that I said something about not taking the medication or not ordering the medication because I "didnt want to deal with it". What the heck? I never said anything like that.

I told the guy that I didnt order my latest box when they called me two weeks ago because I didnt have my credit card with me, and I didnt want to have to deal with paying the invoice when it came...I'd rather just pay for the meds when I order.

She did tell me that as soon as she gets an email back from the pharmacy that payment program would go into effect (finally!) and that the pharmacy would be sending me a refund for my shipments that I've paid for since the payment program went into effect. (yay! money! too bad I have to pay my credit card bill with that...I wanna go shopping!)

I'm just irritated that the guy who called me was so rude. I dont know if it was because he was calling me late (nearly 8pm at night) and that I might have been his last call, and he was anxious to get to the bar so he could get drunk or something, or if he was just a jerk.

I complained about him to the lady who called me tonight, and told her that if she can figure out who he was, that his boss needs to have a chat with him on telephone etiquette (I worked on the phones for four years. I know all about how you're supposed to act when you're working as a telephone rep)

I think I'll go lay down, and wait for the flames that are smoldering in my left leg to erupt and burn the house down. (I really hate neurological burning)

I noticed tonight that my butt on the left side is numb...even checked it with a straight pin from my sewing box...and the leg is slowly going more numb tonight and I can now feel it in the other leg a lot more than I could earlier tonight. Great, it's probably because that guy was rude to me and had me ticked off most of the day and stressed that they were going to drop me from that payment program.

I just hope this isnt the start of a huge exacerbation that's going to paralyze me or something nasty like that. I am really starting to hate this MS carp with a passion that I reserve for the kids who tortured me in school growing up.

aww, that is just awful! why didnt you hang up on the jerk? I dont let telephone people upset me anymore, I just hang up. I say things like "when you figure out what YOU are doing, have someone call me, till then the way you are speaking to me if upsetting." and click! I usually try to get their name, but sometimes dont care.

I've made it a habit, that if I don't recognize the number; I don't answer. If it's important, they can leave a message.

And if they leave a message, then I can make notes and think about it. Maybe I'll call back and maybe I won't

I think I'll let my cellphone secretary (the voice mail) deal with SS. It's always a Pennsylvania number, so I'm probably just going to ignore the call and just deal with the recording from now on.

SS called me yesterday and left a message. Something about a discount but I haven't been on Copaxone for about 3 months so didn't call them back.

Hrm. Only time SS calls me is when my nurse Donna wants to check up with me. Otherwise, I call them with questions, and I usually end up talking to them for quite a long time when I do. I've had nothing but positive experiences with them (Canadian side).

That's interesting. The nurse quit calling me to check up on me. I wonder why she stopped.
