If she is on the computer a lot it could be some sort of repetitive strain injury. How is her posture- does her neck, shoulders or upper back get sore and tight also? If so you might read on our TOS forum useful stickys.

But yes, I agree, best to find out and not put off getting things checked out. The sooner it is figured out the sooner the treatment can be started, for whatever is causing it.

Hey Ali~ Yes, please encourage your Mum to see the Dr. It will be a step in the right direction to see if something is indeed, wrong. You are always so caring and sweet to everyone here, so we are here for you too.

Try not to stress too much, as you have been through so much yourself. Please let us know how your Mum makes out.

I would really like to thank you all for taking the time out to offer suggestions and help, it really helps both me and my mum knowing that you are all here .

Mum still isn't feeling well and her left arm is still tingling quite a lot. She hasn't been sleeping much so I don't think that is helping. She says she feels like I do with my RSD, that no matter how much sleep she gets, she still feels really tired and fatigued and doesn't feel like doing anything.

She has promised to go and call the Doctors on Monday if this doesn't pass - I keep nagging her and telling her to go and get it checked out lol. I think she is a bit worried about going has she doesn't want there to be something the matter but like I have told her, it is better to go and get it checked out and taken care of rather than worrying about what could be the matter. She is her own worst enemy, before I was diagnosed with RSD, she kept taking me to the hospital to find out what was wrong but now SHE is ill, she doesn't want to go lol.

Jo - My mum does quite a lot of keyboard work at her work but she usually types with her right arm and it is her left arm that is currently affected. She says that has far has she is aware, her back and posture is fine. I will check out the TOS forum though and see if I can find any info that might be useful. Thanks for replying!!

Thanks again everyone and I will keep you all updated on what we find out.

Love to you all,
Alison and mum

hi ali,
i'm sorry your mum isn't feeling well.
you're doing the right thing by just encouraging her to see her dr.

i'm sure she's nervous but when she finds out what might be wrong she will gain control over the situation. i've found that when i'm afraid about something it robs me of personal power. but when i take control i get it back.

best to you both.
thanks for the updates.

ps...what's RSD?

Thank you all for your kind words and support, it means a lot to me and my mum.

My mum has always been afraid to go and see a Doctor so she must be feeling really unwell if she is actually thinking about going!! I will keep you all updated when we find something out.

Nancy - RSD stands for Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and is also called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. It is a neurological chronic pain condition and affects the muscles, skin, bone etc. I have it in my left leg and right arm.

Thanks again everyone.

Ali, make sure you keep on your mum about calling the doctor...
let her know that this is stressing you out, and she would be helping you if she went and found out what is causing her problem...
I am sure she would want to lessen any stress you are under...

Good luck, take care, and know that we're praying for you and your mum:grouphug:

Ali, you are such a wonderful daughter and person. You remind me so much of my youngest daughter. She is always worried about me and telling me to see the doctor - I sometime wonder who is the adult. :)

My prayers are with your mum and you hoping she sees the doctor and gets some results.

You have so much to deal with I really hope you get to be a teen also!

Please keep us posted! Thinking of you and your mum!

 to both of you.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that my mum called the Doctors. She cannot get an appointment to see our GP for another 10 days. They have booked her an appointment for the 26th November at 8.50am although if things get any worse, the nurse has adviced her to go down and sit and wait.

I will let you know how things go with the appointment. Thank you all once again for your kind words and support, it means a lot to both me and my mum.
