I don't have MS (I have another neurological chronic pain condition) but my grandma suffered from Progressive MS. I believe she had a Type A personality, she was one of those people that always wanted to help others, put herself last, didn't have much time to rest and relax, was always on the go etc etc. From what my mum has said (I wasn't born when my nanan was diagnosed with RSD), the neurologist asked my mum and my grandad to describe my nanans personality has back in those days, if you had a Type A or B personality, you were more prone to developing RSD. Whether that is true or not, I don't know but I have seen many articles on the internet that say the same thing.

It is the same for my neurological condition (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), if you have a Type A or B personality, you are thought to be more at risk of developing it.

Well, I'm a 285 on the test. Problem is, I have a lot of type A personality traits but I force myself to take things slower than I used to. I can't do everything I used to.

For instance, in 1994 before I had my car accident I was president of my neighborhood association and put together the monthly newsletter (and delivered it), was in school 3/4 time, worked full-time, volunteered at my kids' school, was an adult literacy tutor and.... well, cooked, cleaned, did laundry, paid bills, did the taxes....... you get the picture. After the car accident, I had to withdraw from almost everything and I was on LTD. It pretty much sucked.

I relax as hard as I work, however. So when I'm working, I'm really productive. When I'm relaxing, I'm really relaxing HARD!

Came from a household where my dad was really Type A (to a T) and my mom was wacked out. So I tend to be more people pleasing, can't say "no" type, but I'm in a profession where I have to be aggressive and sometimes hostile although I do try to keep that out of my personal life if I can. I know that that doesn't always happen.

This would make a great poll thread just for the fun of it.

I took the test, and don't laugh at this but, I took it all with a grain of salt. You can guess what type I am. LOL. I scored a 154.

Maybe if I took it today it would be lower, maybe higher who knows. I am sure if I took it in during a high stress time, my scores would reflect that and be higher and during less stressful times it would be lower.

298 here

I figured it would be high if I were honest which I was.

I wanted more questions and to just keep going!

If you google "Type A Personality", there are quite a few tests available like this.

I did this one yesterday (linked below), but after 70+ questions, it only gave me a "summary", which was 37/100 overall score . . . and said I could "purchase" more information if I wanted to. It was a good test though, ie. worth doing if this kinda' stuff interests you, because it gave me a better idea of the characteristics that would likely identify a Type A person.
