Does that mean you are coming to Boise? :yahoo:

It's snowing here today and it's sooo pretty! I am still in my jammies. Think I will take the day off...I may take the whole week off! :sunchair:

Good news! I called the surgicenter that is doing the cortisone injection procedure on wednesday. Yes, they do use contrast dye. No, they won't use it on me. In fact, the surgical tech says that about 3-4 people a week have a reaction to the contrast dye so they do have to use an optional procedure w/o the dye. Most people just get a rash or flushing. Oh no! Not me, I told her. Then we went through my whole list of allergies.

She did tell me that I can take my meds that morning and the NPO is so people won't eat a huge breakfast and then get sick. Sort of defeats the purpose of the procedure as you have to lie still for a while afterwards which puts a damper on :vomit:

I am all set for the procedure on Wednesday!

Now to get the nerve conduction test scheduled.

Fine...I won't :Poke: on FG until after Wednesday!

Come here Shappy and let me :Poke: on you then!

Interesting day today. Brain MRI w/and w/o contrast. I've had several over the past few years, uneventful. But lately, nothing seems to be uneventful. So why should today be any different.

We have 4 inches of new snow. I head off at 8:15 am for my massage. About halfway there, I realize it's the wrong day. Figures. So I go back home. Nice drive, in the snow. It's 20 degrees. NOT!

Inlaws are arriving this evening. I have a couple of last minute things to get done, like making the beds! Hey! The sheets are clean. Just have to put them on the beds. Find the dining room table! Minor details.

Take a shower and get ready to go for the MRI. Can't find truck keys. I know they are someplace really stupid. 20 minutes of searching and yes, they are someplace stupid. My sock drawer.

MRI time. Tech had a problem getting the IV started. 3 blows. 2 infiltrations. You know, GAD burns like a blow torch. Not my day today. Not one arm, but two. I think I felt as bad for the tech as she did for me. I have known her for 7 years and am going to be doing her daughter's wedding in June!

MRI was not good. I will get the official report tomorrow.

Speaking of tomorrow --- steroid injection in my neck in the morning. After today, I am actually looking forward to it! Although I am really liking this percocet. I cannot function on it at all. It takes about 30 minutes for it to kick in but once it does, I am toast.

Twiffy I do remember being at the post office today and mailing a package to you. I believe there was something IN the package. If not, I am in big trouble.

If you don't hear from me in a couple of days, someone please call and check on me. Deal? Please?

RedPenguins 01-07-2009 02:31 AM

Oh, Cheryl, definitely doesn't sound like it was a good day for you. I'm not sure which part makes me saddest; I guess the MRI not being good...though the messed IV isn't fun either - but it's short term at least. :(

Let us know how it goes tomorrow - with the procedure and the MRI report!!

I wish you luck and hope your pain goes away REALLY soon. Though, as you said, percocet is fun :p
