Want buddy passes to fly out on Delta? :Wave-Hello: We have places to stay! I would love it!!! And there will be tons of food and we can teach these people how to play liquorama!! They would love it!! :circlelove: Flying standby is tons of fun! As long as you have the time, the price is right! Not quite free but pretty reasonable!! All kidding aside, it would be fun and trust me I would love the company and the help and you would be most welcome! As for the pain, who knows. I have another appt with the ortho doc on the 30th and maybe, just maybe I can talk him into a cortisone shot to help relieve some of the pain. At this point, I don't care if it's approved by TriCare or not! This just blows as Gazzie put it so eloquently in an earlier post. :D Pete, I have dealt with pain before but nothing like this. I am not usually a complainer and deal with pain but not like this. When you know what it is, that's one thing, but when all the docs are baffled, that scares me. The neurosurgeon was my lifesaver and he's out her bobbling around with me looking for answers. I hate this. He's the guy who dx'd me with MS after I got tossed around from one doc to another after being numb from the waist down for 3 weeks. He solved the puzzle that no one else could. I guess I was expecting too much - I expected to waltz into his office and he would wave his magic wand and tell me what was wrong and fix it. Maybe that will still happen, there are still a couple of tests yet to be done. I'm just too impatient! But then again, maybe not. I've been putting up with this since the beginning of November. I am sorry you've been in such a state for so long. I guess maybe I am learning to deal with something new with MS or just something new. Who knows at this point. In the grand scheme of things, I've been lucky (?) my exacerbations have been frequent, but I've always bounced back. As my neuro puts it, I am either 100% or zero. Right now, I am neither. Just cranky. And it being the holidays and no one working makes it even more difficult to get answers. And to top it off, the person who works in my ortho docs office seems to think that patient care is not part of her job description! And as you all know, that does NOT sit well with me. I have written one letter of complaint to the doc, called him once, and it ain't over yet. We shall see what happens when I go in for my appt on Tuesday. I feel like I am :deadhorse: The neurosurgeon's office had problems obtaining my records from her and they are not happy. I had to get them for him and luckily I have a good rapport with the hospital that did all the MRIs and X-rays. Why don't people just do their jobs? :hissyfit: Enough! I am ready for a break! :sunchair: It's snowing today. Supposed to get another 4-5 inches! It's beautiful! When I figure this out Pete, I will certainly let you know! Take care and let's see what we can figure out! ;) |
Just letting you know that....

I'll trade ya some of my bourbon balls. |

But  I love bourbon balls and wasn't able to make any this year! :D Nope, not trading. Sorry Salpal :( I worked too hard to get this package opened! They're mine! All mine!:p |
I'm so sorry that you're still suffering from this rotten pain FG!
I'm also thinking it must be nerve pain or pressure pain seeing the cortisone didn't help, and I guess the only other thing I can think of to take that type of pain away would be a nerve block. That really isn't an option though, as nerve blocks are fairly short acting (several hours) and I doubt your doc would agree anyway. Sending gentle hugs your way....... |
You finally got the package opened?
My goodness someone (Shelley) would of been :thud: long ago from the knowing what was inside. Now...where is that Holly dog when you need her? Could she open the mints without eating them? You probably have a better chance with her than Shells?:D |

Hey Sal, I am drinking bourbon straight out of the bottle!
Anne, I don't know what they have in mind for me, but I see the ortho doc for a follow up on Tues at noon. We shall see what he has to say. Twiffy, Shells is somewhere in the midwest so I am probably safe! :p |
I made Amaretto balls this Christmas...I got to eat three and poof they were gone.
Ya might want to hide those mints...you know how some of these lil hooligans can sniff out things.lol Hope you get relief soon... |
Mmmm. Mints are good for what ail's you..Especially if they're surrounded by chocolate..Your mints are surrounded by chocolate, aren't they Cheryl? Before my eyes get all glassy from this candy talk, Best of Luck at your appointment. I hope they can find an answer so you can be rid of this pain!
|
Cheryl, just noticed this post...I too have horrible pain in both of my arms, that was unexplainable forever even had abnormal EMG's finally my neuro said mine were due to lesions, I did monthly pulsing for about a year and it got better although I do still occasionally have a flare of that particular area it is much better than it used to be....it brought me to my knees! Good luck to you my thoughts and prayers are yours sister!
|
I wish I could think of suggestions as to what this might be. I'm at a loss, can't even figure what's wrong with myself.
:p I'll send you a cyber margarita though, that does seem to take the edge off. If they want you to see a pain clinic, do give that a go. I have had such good results from mine you would not believe. I could barely use either arm before I went there. Not only they helped the pain but restored function. Could be some nerve is pinched, bulged disc impinging something or compressing the cord. Hard to see a lot of that even on the best MRI.Those things cause sx in one or both my arms, but even at its worst I got relief from the pain clinic with a couple shots. I'll be with ya in spirit for that emg. I know it's no picnic, but it's not half as bad as what you're dealing with now. |
I got nuthin' but hugs for ya, One Wing!
Course, I wouldn't dare to touch you for fear of hurting ya MORE! (she's just a leetle tiny thang, yanno!) ((hey! I just realized that one wing is OW!!) |
I just read this Cheryl :(. I'm so sorry. I've had some luck with a pain clinic in the past for a different issue. Good luck, I hope you feel better, and a .
|
Here's hoping the EMG goes well. I had that a couple if years ago to test for carpal tunnel. Piece of cake except when they stick the needle between the thumb and pointer finger. YOWSA! Only last a second or two though.

Thanks Sandy...they stick what...don't say it () where ()?
Good thing I was sitting down when I read that. Except I don't know if I can get up yet! It will be ok..OWFG...just close your eyes and don't forget to breath like I do or you will....:thud: Fine...let's take your mind off of that now.... I went to Mint City to my favorite store and guess what? I found one bag of Christmas wrapped Chehalis Mints for 1/2 price. They are mine...all mine I tell ya...off to hide my score!:D |
You guys are ok!

OWFG Flying low on one wing and a prayer!
I hadn't read this thread for a few days, and was hoping that by now you would have some answers. Phooey! I'll be in SLC on the 31st too, catching a flight to Phoenix. Sounds like you have plenty to do before your trip. How do you keep the flowers safe and cool on your trip? Do you have a special cooler or what? Wish I could see them -- what colors did the bride choose? Don't overtax that good arm. Drive safe. |
No special cooler, just have to keep the flowers separate from food.
Actually we will be in Layton, not SLC, and we're not flying. Have no desire to deal w/TSA on a busy travel day w/6 dozen flowers. Shades of pink!! We have the church to decorate along w/all the wedding party flowers and the reception hall! Lots to do! No answers yet on the arm. :( |
I be happy! Saw the ortho doc! He gave me a cortisone shot in the back of my shoulder and an rx for percocet!
It's just a temporary fix til I get in to see the other doc for the rest of testing to find out what's wrong but I feel better already! Pain level is now tolerable! Yippee and he said I could stop wearing the sling and it was really for my comfort! Comfort??? Yikes! Well, so now I have limited use of my right arm! YEAH!!!!!!!! The shooting pain down my right upper arm is gone. And my shoulder is now just sore from the shot but I can deal with that. I am now feeling just a little wounded, stiff, numb, pain level down around 6. :yahoo::yahoo: Oh yeah, and no sign of that really "nice" office staff person. |
Well, that's good news even if it is just a temporary fix. I have pain in my right hand that's due to (so the doctor says) the lesion that's causing all my numbness. Geeze....if it's numb you'd think it wouldn't hurt! Try explaining THAT to people! Anyway, I sympathize with you.....the pain is sickening sometimes and nothing helps. I hope the other doctor can determine what's causing it and fix it once and for all.
