I'm cold sensitive, and the winter hurts. Even going to the pre-heated car I get shorter than I already am.
![]() Anybody want to swap tips? Coat/boot/mitten brands you've tried and swear by? So far I've found a leather coat to keep the wind out best, but is has to be well lined. And anti perspirant on the feet keeps them warm by keeping them dry. I do need comfy warm boots though. My feet are killing me.

Warm up the inside layers before putting on your coat. Toss your sweater or the scarf in the dryer for a minute or 2. Your coat will help hold that heat in.
For me, wrapping myself up when I'm cold, just keeps the cold in. ![]() My right hand that I broke recently is ice cold. I warm up a glove before putting it on. Then my brace. Otherwise, it's like keeping an ice cube from melting.

Ugg boots are really warm. They're kinda expensive, but very comfortable and as I said, warm. They have mocassins and short boots too.
I have a microwavable hot pack that has diferent soothing, nice smelling herbs in it that works well for achiness. |

I HATE cold!
![]() ![]() I have hot showers, even though they stir up some symptoms. Transitory numbness, weakness, and fatigue are way better then pain. ![]() My gas fireplace runs constantly. I like to sit on the hearth. ![]() Like Curious, I warm my clothes before I go out. I don't put them in the dryer, but I wear them around the house till I heat up, then I face the elements. I let the car run until it's heated. Yeah it wastes gas and pollutes the air ... but at least I am warm. ![]() Much of the time my "cold" sensation is just that, and I am not really cold (phantom cold). I find that putting pressure on the limb takes away that sensation, like with a tensor bandage, tighter shoes, etc. Cherie

I keep a small ceramic heater under my desk at work. The heat vents are on the ceiling here so my feet are always freezing. The heater warms them up quite a bit.
At home I warm up the bed with an electric blanket on high for an hour before bedtime. When I go out, I use a neckscarf with my coat, it keeps out the drafts and keeps me warmer.

Boy, I absolutely hate the winter now LOL. I used to absolutely love it before I got RSD/CRPS (which is similar to MS) but now I detest it and just feel like sleeping all through the winter months!! The cold makes my pain so much worse and sends my RSD limbs really blue or purple!
One of the things that I swear by is an electric heat blanket. I use them when I am in the house and they are SO warm and stop my muscles from aching so much. Vonn made me a lovely quilt and I use that a lot also and wrap it around me and it keeps me really warm and it is SO soft and snuggly!! Another thing that really helps me are Ugg Boots. They are pretty expensive but I feel that they are well worth the money!! The insides of them are lined with sheep-skin so they keep my feet so nice and warm and they are really comfortable also! I live in my Ugg Boots and I have 3 pairs of them now - one pair in black, another in brown and another in beige lol. I'm sorry that you are in so much pain and hope you feel better real soon and find something that help you! ![]()

Wintersilks sells lightweight silk long underwear. It's great. Also silk sock liners, etc.

Sorel SnowLion boots with the full length liner and wool socks.
Warmer packs in the boots between the boot and the liner and inside gloves/mittens. Layers that can be added and taken off as needed. Duofold long johns, a thin shirt on top of that, a polypro fleece on top of that and then my full length wool coat! Wool hat and scarf or some blend of animal yarn (cashmere, alpaca, etc) Six cords of dry wood, a man who stokes the fire, starts my car 15 minutes before I leave for work, and puts off heat like a furnace while sleeping!!!
