Default MS Tremor and Weights

I received my Good Grips cutlery and my Bell wrist and ankle weights.

I've used the fork and the rocker knife and they do allow me more control, my arm and hand shake and jerk less. I haven't used the souper spoon or the teaspoon, but I'm sure they will also help.

Yesterday, I wore the wrist weights. They are 1.5 lb each. I wore them when we went grocery shopping, and I did notice better control with them on.

Today, I wore the ankle weights. They are 2.5 lb each. It took awhile to get used to walking while wearing the weights, but I think I'm less jerky with them on.

The weights are easy to get on and off, and they are pretty comfortable as long as you don't wear them for long periods of time.

P.S. It's 37 degrees, with winds gusting to 40 mph, and it's snowing like crazy!! Not a nice day to go out of the house.

I'm glad the weights seem to be helping..

It's cold here but only flurries, so far. January is our usual heavy snow month, so I'm getting ready.

I hope it doesn't get too trecherous out there for all those drunkies..

Heart

I really hope that the ankle weights will help you and ease some of your tremors and other symptoms!

I don't have MS but have a condition that is fairly similar (RSD) and I have attended two, Intense Physical Therapy programs and I had to wear 2-3lb weights on my ankles and then move my legs up and down 30 times and side to side 30 times etc. It helped me so much in some ways, it didn't get rid of the tremors that I was having completely but it helped to calm them down a little and stop them from coming as often as they used to do! The PT's explained to me that the ankle weights try and "stabilise" the joints to try and stop them from shaking and going into spasm - it made a lot of sense to me. I still do the exercises at home now sometimes.

I hope the weights help you and please keep us updated - you are in my thoughts and I wish you a very happy New Year filled with lots of love and happiness!

I was hoping to see fireworks from the country club that's up the hill behind us. We have a bay window in the bedroom from which I watch the fireworks displays. It's awesome. Of course, they won't do it unless the wind dies down.

I hope everyone stays safe, warm, and happy.

Thanks so much! Happy New Year to you, too!

I'm going to make a neuro appt in January, and I'll talk to him about physical therapy. That's a good idea, although my neuro should be the one to bring it up first.
