Default Have to see Neurosurgeon

Hi everyone,

My pcp thinks that i need to see a neurosurgeon due to a cyst on my pituitary.
It's called a Rathke cyst, and apparently its formed in utero(sp)
My pcp only found this cyst after i had my mri.
I had no hormonal symptoms of any kind.

So i have an appt on the 17th of this month to see him.
Pcp assured me that he is a really nice doctor and i would like him.

I'm looking forward to seeing him, maybe i can get some answers as far as neurological symtpoms.

I have researched alot about this kind of cyst and my symptoms don't match with theirs.

So hopefully i'll get some help.
This time i'm going to make sure that i make a copy of my mri before i give it to him.

please let us know how the appt goes.
at least they found the cyst and sounds like they can do something about it.
you're wise to do your research.
write down your Q's and try to bring someone to the appt with you for ears and support.

Good luck....I hope you can get some answers from him.

I have to write my questions down before I go......otherwise I forget them until I get back in the car to leave!

I hope they can treat it without too much upheaval in your life.

So am I understanding that you've had this cyst since before you were born? I hope you can get some answers for this and any other symptoms you've been experiencing. Take a list of questions for the neuro!

Isn't it strange that you can have something your whole life and then it shows up on a test? I have a hemangioma on my spine that showed up on an MRI and they believe that it was congenital also. No one ever mentioned it to me before and it was like WOW, how'd that get there???

Hope your appt goes well and that your problem can be resolved easily. Please let us know what you find out.. Take care and sending hugs.

Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day up there in Canada? Just thinking about your appt. being on the 17th -- I was going to tell you to remember to wear green!

Thinking about you and Haylee. I hope things go well for you.

Good luck on your appointment.

Please be sure to get a second opinion.
