Default I have a question. . .

Hello all. I may have asked this question before but if I did, it's not here and I never got any answers. I must have zoned it out as I do many things.

Anyway, tomorrow I go in for 3 MRI's to rule out MS or perhaps some kind of neck or back injury that may be causing my symptoms. I have been diagnosed with idiopathic periphreal neuropathy but have struggled through some bladder problems this year as well as increased fatigue and blurred eyesight. When the urologist told me (and my neuro) that he sees an "MS bladder" in me, the MRI's were scheduled.

So my questions are, how rare is the presentation of MS from bladder issues? Can it be diagnosed that way?? Also, if I have been diagnosed and treated for neuropathy, is that a mistake or do you think that is and will be a separate condition on top of the MS? The pain I experience in my feet and ankles is horrible. My hands, however, are stiff and the fingers kind of remain turned inward.

Anyhow, just thought I'd throw this out for comments.

Thanks,
nancy-h

Hi Nancy. ..Look in sallyb's thread..."Went to Neuro today abouut MS", and you may find your answers there.

Take care,

Hi Nancy. I just wanted to let you know that you're not alone! I went to a urologist about 2 months ago and he asked if any docs have ever suggested that I may have MS - again, "MS bladder".

I asked my neuro about it last time I saw him and he doesn't think that's it since I had a normal brain MRI last year. He said he wanted to wait a few months before sending me for another scan.

I've had PN since May, about 3 weeks after my ACDF surgery. We've been trying to find a "cause" for it ever since. (I posted all my issues on the PN board last week)

Anyway, my neuro seems to be at a loss, so he sent me to an infectious disease specialist the other day. She's running more blood tests, but doesn't think she's going to find anything. She also agreed with the MS possibility. I told her that the neuro wanted to wait a few more months before ordering an MRI. I've already paid my max out-of-pocket for the year on my insurance, so she went ahead and scheduled me for an MRI tomorrow - we both agreed that there's no reason to wait and then have to pay all that money after the beginning of the year.

Hope all goes well with your scans tomorrow! Hopefully we'll both get some sort of answers from our scans! At this point, I don't even care what the cause is - I just want to know that there is a cause.

Coda

Default Nancy and Coda...

Nancy and Coda, we are beginning to look like birds of a feather. Just got over a bladder infection thanks to antibiotics, but I still smell like a urinal. How embarrassing!!! But, for me, nobody has ever said anything about a MS bladder. However, that is what they are looking for...that or a stroke.

Well, I got my MRI results today...brain looks perfectly fine. The only thing on the MRI was a maxillary sinus cyst which is supposedly nothing to worry about...they saw it last year also.

Back to being clueless about what's going on...*sigh*
