I think I remember reading a thread about soma at one time, but cannot find it through the search engine. Has anyone tried it? Did it help? I am a bit afraid that it will make me too woozy. Is woozy a word?

If it's not a word, it should be.

I use Soma very, very occasionally. I wouldn't say it makes me feel woozy, I'd say it makes me feel very drunk, even trashed. It's a good drug and it really does work for me, but I'm very limited in when I take it. If I have muscle spasms or spasticity while I'm at work or need to function, forget it. I only take it when the spasms are very bad, it's nightime, and I know I won't be leaving my house that day. I also can't take it when I'm having balance issues, because of the intoxicated feeling. Soma makes my balance kind of non existent.
When I can take it when I need it though, it works great. I usually take it at bedtime, and I don't feel woozy in the morning, which is good.

Soma is a form of meprobamate. A tranquilizer. It is metabolized to meprobamate by the liver.

Since I started battling this new disease I have, the doc started me on neurontin. I can't take it either. I started on 300mg at night, then added another 300mg and felt like a zombie. I stopped it altogether. The docs don't have to worry about me becoming a druggie ![]() I like being awake during the day!
