Default Extreme paion in back

I have been awake since 3:30 with extreme pain in my back. Everytime I move it feels as if someone is stabbing in my left lower back. The rest of my back is aching and there is a dull pain in my lower back as long as I am not moving. It is the kind of pain that makes you gaspe and takes you breath away.

It also hapens everytime I lower my chin to my chest. I do not know if this if L'Hermites or not. My back has been bothering me for a few months and the back of my neck has been hurting for about 2 weeks.

I was going to go to the ER, but I am waiting until my doctor's office opens to see what they say. I will also cal the neuro's office at some point, but driving up there today is not an option.

Barb

I'm so sorry you're in such pain. It could be stasticity or even a pulled muscle. It's so easy to pull a muscle in the back without even realizing it. Have you tried a warm heating pad?

I hope the pain eases up for you and the doc can give you something to relieve the pain.

I just got back from pcp and she prescribed soma and generic vicodin. I also called my neuro's office to let them know what is going on, and they said they would call back in 24-48 hours. I hate vocodin, but anti inflammatories make me nauseated. So I just took one. I am holding off on the soma (muscle relaxant) as I took a baclofen as usual this morning.

Just take it easy today, Barb. I hope the meds help ease the pain.

Oh Barb, Honey, there is nothing worse, than back pain. There are so may different kinds for many different reasons and they all hurt like ****!!

I can't take Vicodin (causes me to vomit), but I sure hope it helps your pain go away. I've heard that Soma is a good Med...you may like it better than baclofen?

Gentle Hugs..
