I've got a symptom question. Can headaches be a symptom of MS? I read on the NMSS website that it's possible, but it mainly discussed migraines. I have had an almost constant headache for the past week. I can take Tylenol or Advil and the pain eases, but it never goes completely away and it always comes back. They are not migraines...I've experienced those before.

So, whaddaya think? MS symptom or not? Call the neuro or GP? Thx!

I have something very similar, and have for years.

I was finally told it's neuropathic pain, but it FEELS like a headache.... it's painful and burning in my case. I've had headache AND migraine. This is a dull, always there pain that is untouched by medications (OTC and prescribed).

HOWEVER... it's also the reason they sent me to a pain doctor, who confirmed what my neurologist and GP said about this pain I have, only MJ will truly help the pain.

So if it's legal in your State or region, worth looking into. I'm still waiting on financial approval to begin my own 'testing' :D

Thanks everyone. The headaches I've been having are that steady, constant pain. No migraine...thank goodness! It's not my sinuses or allergies. I've had enough trouble with those and I know where I typically have pain related to those.

I'm going to try to go for a few days without taking any meds for it, just in case I am experiencing "rebound" headaches. Today was the first day, and it wasn't fun. Now, we've got a front coming in that's bringing rain, and I'm having to deal with the pain and vertigo from that as well. Ack!!!

My husband suggested having my blood pressure checked b/c that can cause headaches. (Plus, both of my parents have high blood pressure.) That will be one of the first things I check if the headaches don't go away after my med-free few days. But, my BP has always been on the low side of normal, even when I was pregnant.

We'll see. Thanks for all the responses! You guys are always great.

ETA: I forgot to comment on the MJ thing....it's not legal in my state, although we have a neighbor who more than likely could easily get it for me if I ever wanted it.

I, too, have dealt with a headache for almost two years. It has eased over the past three months, but I still have a dull ache, oh, about 3-4 days a week.
I take Frova (an abortive migraine med), but only when I'm having a true migraine. The other HA...when it's around, nothing works.

One thing that HAS given me consistent relief is visiting a chiropractor. Last year I went to the ER with such terrible pain. They gave me IV pain killers...nothing worked. I went to a chiropractor that a good friend suggested, and after one adjustment I noticed relief. The trick with chiropractors--find one who is legit, and don't let them con you into visiting every day for 20 years! I did go 2x a week for about a month, then once a week, then down to every other week. Now, if I'm lucky I can find time to go once a month. But, when the HA is in full force, the visit is worth it!

Best wishes!
