We shall see what the doctor does/says today.

Saw my internist today. Told him of all my symptoms but since he diagnosed me with arthritis in my neck a while back he believes it is a pinched nerve and gave me some muscle relaxers for the spasms in my legs and a few pamphlets about how to combat lower back pain. He also ordered some blood work. So far one test that is for inflammation (sed rate I think) came back normal. With Kaiser blood work results can be accessed through my account on the internet - pretty cool! He wants me to go back to my optometrist and get my eyes checked. I called them today and they wanted to know if I was having any problems because it has only been 1 1/2 years since my last exam. Told them I was having eye pain and they said I should see an opthamologist and that would be covered under my medical. So I will be calling my internist tomorrow and asking for a referral to an opthomologist (I have Kaiser).

I still have a horrible feeling about all of this. Something just 'aint right.:confused:

I saw an opthamologist today through Kaiser. He spent about 15 minutes with me and after looking in my eyes said that it doesn't appear that I have any sort of disease going on. He said that eye pain can be caused by dry eye and suggested that I get some drops. I still have some jabbing pain in my eye, but it isn't constant like it had been. I am still feeling really tired, but thanks to the Relafen my legs don't hurt as much. I have started a log like someone on another thread suggested so that I can keep track of all of this. I asked the opthomologist if I could get an MRI and he said that my symptoms don't really warrant one. I have never been a sickly person or a hypochondriac, but I just don't feel like my normal self. Too much pain, achyness and twitches to ignore.

Don't let 'em blow you off! It's frustrating sometimes dealing with doctors who want go for the easy dx rather than actually work to find out what's really going on. Have they checked your heart/arteries at all? Problems in that area have totally different sx in women than they do in men ~ found that out the hard way..And just because you've been dx'd with arthritus in your neck doesn't mean they can ignore all your other symptoms. Sorry for the soapbox moment :o..Hope you find out what's up so you can get some relief!

I totally agree with Polar. Keep pursuing it. A good PCP will help you through the dx process and is a great place to start. I wouldn't hesitate to get another opinion from another internist and/or PCP and even consider switching.
