Question Miracle Juice

Has anyone heard of this mangosteen juice? People keep telling me that it helps MS symptons. I'm skeptical, I looked it up and everything about it is from one company so of course its all positive. Has anyone else tried it or has a site to go to that is un-biased? Thanks for any input.

It probably won't hurt you, will it help? Probably not much more than any good fruit juice.

This product pops up now and again, and you will get varied answers.

I tried it, after being given a free bottle, and thought...it cant hurt. I was told after just one bottle I would see an amazing difference. Nope, not one ounce of change. My friend kept pushing this and telling tales of how wonderful it is. Can make the blind see, and the lame walk, and the earth move kinda speeches. I looked it up. Its just a super loaded highly anti oxidant drink. You can get just as much benefit from blueberry or pomagrante juices at far less costs, and much better taste. I thought the taste was gross.

Go ahead and give their normally free bottle a go, and I really hope you have better results than I did.

If you look up the way the company runs, its set up like a pyramid scheme. The person at the top sends out others to sell for him, then he gets profit from whatever they sell. They send out others to sell for them and the money flows uphill. I have found several folks selling this product at me in the past and 99% of them turned quite aggressive about the product when I explained that I had tried it with NO results.

I didnt feel better, I didnt feel worse. Had I bought that second bottle that was NOT free, I would have felt poorer.

I say I will try most things at least once.

Hey Kat! I agree w/Dej! When I was working at a fitness club (few yrs ago), Goji juice was all the rage, made from berries only found in the Himalayan Mtns. It claimed to cure everything from headaches, Fibro, constipation, arthritis, memory issues, you name it. It came and it went~ These juice concoctions (incl Noni juice) have been around for a long time and keep resurfacing. Me? I don't buy into it, and they are very pricey.

If you want to take it, by all means, but I personally didn't see one member who took it for months, cured or boasting of it's miracles. It wasn't long before the owner took it off the shelves and stopped selling it. A good fruit juice sounds like a better choice, but that is only my opinion.

take care and good luck.

A few years ago, at a family member's coaxing I gave it a costly try-staying on it for a couple months buying it by the case...nothing, nada, zip, zilch.

its bad enough when friends, or close co workers push stuff at ya, but when the family jumps on the band wagon...sheesh!

I had my sister push me hard to get bee sting therapy. I told her I am ALLERGIC to bees! stop pushing me! She kept trying to convince me the venom was different than a real sting...sheesh!

I did give ONE free bottle a go, and was promised the moon. nothing happened. nothing good, nothing bad.

Thanks for the input, I figured it was one of those too good to be true things. I'll give the free bottle a try I guess as you say it can't hurt, its just juice.

Have a great weekend everyone, I'm going to try once this rain is out of the way, going to get the family to help me plant some flowers. YEA!

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mangosteen/an01197

this is from the mayo clinic web page and actually has some nice things to say about the mangosteen juice. not that it can cure or even relly help anything, but they do say its a nice rich source of antioxidents.and that it does seem to have some natural chemical that works as an anti inflamitory agent. so... it cant be all bad. but how does it taste?
im sure your going to find the staunch followers, just like with anything else. but like you i couldnt find any information that didnt come from somebody selling the juice or selling a competing product

Default flavonoids folks flavoniods!!!!!!!

All of these juices contain some flavonoids and many, NOT ALL, can have a positive/preventative protective effect on MYELIN destruction processes.

I have researched this for over 10 years and the list of GOOD flavonoids is getting bigger each day. This is not NEW stuff.

jackD

P.S. I would like to add that Timothy R. Stout has posted a LOT of info on this in the past. A few simple internet searches shoul find his statement on MS and flavonoids. I strongly agree with his BBB Blood Brain Barrier statements. I have much more current info and data. I will post some links to my database. He has found the WHAT and I think I have found the WHY?.

Default Flavonoids inhibit myelin phagocytosis by macrophanges

"Flavonoids inhibit myelin phagocytosis by macrophanges"

The above is the title of the study which shows that certain "flavonoid families" which share a common structure have this beneficial effect.
