i had a visual migraine, but just once. i've never had ON.
but, if your sx's con't you should see your dr, or an opthamologist. |
I've experienced that before also and my neuro said they were optical migraines ( like the rest said ) . He even told me he gets them himself ( and he doesn't have MS ) . Every time except one, I've experienced them right after giving myself my Copaxone. They last about 20 minutes for me.

my mother has them, and says she has had them for 40 years. she doesnt have MS.
They can be hereditary. I never had one till after starting Copaxone. The MD said it could have happened with or without the copaxone. 99% of the time, it is not painful. it is irritating. It used to scare me, now I know what it is, and just lay down for a few minutes. Advil/tylenol helps, but rest helps more. Its good to have your eyes looked at to be sure your vessels are in good shape, your lense is in good shape, and your cornea is ok. once you get the all clear, it puts your own mind at ease. |
Thanks...I actually had a consult with a neuroopthalmologist last month, due to nystagmus and pain around the eyes...I hadn't had the wavy lines yet. He suggested that the nystagmus is probably due to the MS. Pain should be controlled by gabapentin, which my new neuro told me to wean myself off of...
