I agree with everyone else that you shouldn't feel like you did something wrong, and you shouldn't feel cross with yourself.

This disease is so unpredictable that you never know which way it's going to turn around and bite you in the butt.

Hoping that after a nice rest, your symptoms will improve and you'll be able to go ride your horses.

how are you feeling today? any better after some rest?

I did too much yesterday, and I am in the slow lane today. whew! a day off sounds like a plan. I am gonna lay in bed and nap, and maybe watch a movie. I need some leave me alone time.

I hope you're feeling better today. Please know we understand.

Thank you all.

Looking back, I think I had my first bout of fatigue!!! Hell, never had one before! my face is almost straight, but I'm still winking and whining. :D

I took the plunge and phoned centrelink today to see what I might be entitled to. It sounds hopeful.
Realistically, I think I'm going to have to consider my work options. I can't see how much longer I can look after people who are feeling better than me :(

Thank you again.

hi pud. are you an RN? i am.
doing nites in any job is a killer. i can understand about the fatigue. i used to do 12-13hr days in the NICU. i had to quit in '05.

but, that's probably not doing much to make you feel better.
try to be gentle with yourself. you're not doing anything wrong.
as much as you can listen to your body. pace yourself and rest when you can.

i hope your dr is helping you with these new symptoms (sx's).
please let us know how you are.

Hi all.
Feeling better today. Little bit tired (I worked again yesterday evening) and it was a Beta day today (never rains but it pours) but I've just mooched around and played with cats and horses.

I'll be getting the forms for benefit soon but don't know how many hoops I'll have to jump through to get any. Any advice????

OH wants me to give up nursing. I think he has a point. and yesterday I found I was so intolerant of patients that I was bordering on sounding rude. Another shift tomorrow and then I'll consider a new plan.
I'm almost qualified as a counsellor which could be a whole new avenue for me.

Thanks again for your support. OH is great but if he asks why I'm limping once more, I'll have to smother him with a pillow...
:)

I find the better rested I am, the more able I am to deal with stress, or even needy others. Nursing is hard even under the best of circumstances, so for you to be rest deprived, puts you in a struggle catagory. Your main goal is to take good care of YOU first. then take care of others. Just like on airplanes IF the O2 masks falls, put YOUR mask on first, then put on your childrens.

That was a hard lesson to learn for me as a caregiver. Nurses are so stubborn. :p

Aw, I'm sorry... I hope it passes and doesn't turn into a relapse. I love horses, wish I could be there with you, we could boost each other up into the saddle. :)

When I have lots of stress my symptoms can act up. Yesterday I sat at the computer and stewed about something that might go wrong at work. It was useless worry and later on my right foot was numb. I tried to take it easy after that and today it's better. For me it seems I can feel it when things start to get to me and I think I'm able to ward off the MS stuff somewhat. I've been diagnosed over six years now so I'm sort of used to it.
