Default Painful pins and needles?

One last newbie question to help pick your brains here if that's alright.

For those of you who have experienced pins and needles sensations have you had that become very painful, almost like a fire sensation for several days?

Again, I'm just trying to match up my symptoms to discover if I'm in the right place or not.

Thanks.
