Default And the verdict is

I got approved for disibility and they are going to back pay me from November. I am so happy and the strange part was I never got denied. Thankfully I believe the good lord was looking over me and taking care of me.Just wanted to share and let others know that sometimes it is easy and other times they want to be pains in the butt. Hugs and hope everyone has a good memorial day weekend

Great news. It's good to hear that some people don't have to fight for what they deserve. Enjoy your lump sum from November. Super! I was lucky too.

I wish I had your luck.
I filled in my forms and OH and I trudged to the Centrelink office to be told that he earns too much, we're not entitled to ANY benefit, we should learn to live off one salary or that I should get work that I can do!!!
I'm a little bit cross to say the least.
By him looking after me, taking night shifts for the penalty rates and working hard, we are penalised.

Congratulations! I was approved the first time, too. In fact.....it was only a couple of months from the time I submitted my application (online) to the day I got my award letter. I was shocked!

I understood that what the hubby makes has nothing to do with your case in as far as social security is concerned. I can see where Medicaid may say you earn too much as a family......
Social Security is not concerned also with any other income you (personaly)may have unless it is "Earned" through a job. I have a divorce settlement that didn't even come into play.

Congrats to anyone getting SSDI first time out! It is such a blessing not to have to keep fighting the system. Mine was denied the first time and it will take 3 years to get before a judge even though mine is listed as "likely to be approved" HA!
