Smile New Doctor and DMD

I am now going to start Betaseron. I was on Avonex

My appointment went well and I like this new doctor.

I was so stressed about having to go to another doctor.

He said I am going to have another MRI done in 3 months.

The one I have had mine done in in the past is mobile MRI machine.

He said that was not good because the magnets are not as strong and do not pick up as much as a stationary machine does.

So for the moment I am feeling very relieved. Whew.....glad this day is done!

So glad your appointment went well with your new neuro. Yes, they can be stressful, but at least now you're over the first hurdle. All the best with the Beta!

Good luck!

LA, I wish you good luck with your new doctor and your new DMD. I hope it does wonders for you.

I get stressed going to any new doctor. It's like starting all over again. Telling about the same history, the meds you're on now or have taken over the years, and still hoping for a better doctor than the last one. I'm glad you've found one.

Glad everything went well for you. I was on Beta - never on Avonex - but I think you'll find the Beta needle virtually invisible compared to what you've been used to! Good luck and I hope this DMD proves to be the one for you!!

I switched from Copaxone ( after 9 and a half years) to Betaseron 2 weeks ago. It's going well so far. So glad they titrate you up slowly these days. Best of luck to you! I'm glad your appt. went well and you like your new neuro. That means a lot.

After Avonex, Beta should be a breeze. You should be used to the manual injections, but now you get to use that baby needle, instead of the big boy.

Congrats on finding a better MD.

Congratulations on finding a good neurologist, and getting started on Beta.

The needle is tiny, the Autoject is simple to use, and I think Beta has the least side effects than any of the other DMD's.

I was on Avonex, then Copaxone, and now Beta for three years.

Meeting a new doctor is stressful. Now you can relax, you got the hard part out of the way.
