Default Heat and MS: Okay, it's officially hot now...

http://ms.about.com/b/2009/06/30/hea...t-now.htm?nl=1

Okay, it's official. It's hot. It's humid. This means that for those of us with MS we have a choice - stay inside and be kinda mad and anxious about summer, or go outside and be REALLY mad and anxious about summer.

Well of course, you're in GA..

I'm holding my breath here, because we are having mild sunny (mid 70s to low 80s) weather, right now.. That can change in an instant, though. Last week was hot and humid and I was suffering, even in my A/C.

Here in Arizona it is a dry heat which is tolerable but now we are in the monsoon season where we get our rain for the year so we have humidity and a dew point we don't normally have.

We used to say in the Midwest...rain's good for the crops but here we say it's good for the cactus!

I have NO problem in the dry heat but add humidity and I am totally wiped out. Shopping and appointments are either early in the morning or not at all.

I am love the heat but NOT the humidity!

its been grey, and overcast, or raining for so long now. I feel like my body is craving sun, NOT heat, just some sun. it doesnt feel natural to go months on end with no sun. No wonder most of this state in on Vit D suppliments.

I feel run down, blah, and just grey myself. I would love to go someplace sunny, but the heat would do me in.

My friend in Alabama said it was 103 at her place today. I would just lay down and fry.

is there a place that is sunny, and calm?

I really believe Hawaii has some of the best year around weather. It gets into the 90's in the summer, but it cools down at night and the trade winds keep one cool in the day.

Getting the money to live there may be another story.

Actually my neighbors have a town house there, and have offered it to us if we want to visit. They only go there for November through April, and its available the rest of the year.

I may just do that.

Im telling you, its not what you know, its who you know.

This week, it's been in the 90's. Went to the zoo Tuesday evening. By evening, it had cooled a little, and they had mist-ers that you could go under a few places, and I also brought a mist bottle, for in-between mist-ers.

Last week, though, it was always over 100F, and, with the humidity, the heat index was often getting up around 109F.

The heat and humidity don't bother my MS, but, I STILL don't like them!

It's really hot over here in the UK also. It has been in the 90's today and I can really tell as my leg has started to hurt a lot more than usual! It didn't help that I went to college and the bus was late so we had to sit out in the heat for about an hour until it came!

I used to always love Summer but don't like it that much now! I have to have the temperature just right which is nearly impossible! If it is too cold, I hurt too much and if it's too hot, I hurt too much so you just can't win! It's a good job we have air conditioning although that hurts me too sometimes!!

Hope you're all doing OK in the heat and that it doesn't get to you too much!
