Default Copaxone

I start copaxone today scared to death. I was on Rebif for almost a year. But Rebif made me have more flares and did not help. I have been off dmd for almost 5mths. My doctor wanted to try Ty but I wanted to try lesser of the evils first and see how it goes. I don't know how about giving myself a shot every day but I am going to try.Hugs to everyone

August 8, it will be 2 years for me. I was terrified, and was kicked off Beta. I went to Copaxone kicking and screaming.

its really not a biggie. no flu stuff, and it gets to be just a part of your day.

In the early days it can have a bit of a bite to it, but with just a couple of weeks it gets MUCH MUCH MUCH better. Have a good rotation schedule, and chose a new body part each day. rotate, rotate, rotate. DONT RUB! Rubbing copaxone breaks the crystals in the meds, and causes it to be fat destructive.

Just know you have a truck load of cheerleaders here. rah rah rah!

Good luck to you. I was apprehensive, too, before I started Copaxone. Once the nurse showed me how to inject and I did it a couple of times it was a breeze. I wondered what in the world I was so worked up over. Copaxone turned out not the be the DMD for me but I gave it a try and I was surprised at how easily I could do the injections....this coming from a confirmed needle weenie from waaaaaay back!!

You'll do great!

If you can do Rebif, then you can be a C-shooter for sure! I had to make the switch from being a Bifer for seven years to Copaxone just recently. You can do it.

it's been 6 yrs for me. i was really scared at first also but now it's routine.
after some trial and error i've figured out how to minimize the site reactions.

i hope this works for you. sounds like you made a good decision.

Good luck...been shooting C since November...my new neuro helped me reduce site reactions by making the number higher, and shooting fat pads on the outside of my thighs, rather than the top of them, due to reactions there.

It's a piece of cake. I'm not on it now, but I was for 3 1/2 years. Never missed a shot. It got to be a habit. I did it at the same time each night. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
