Protandim - Ependymin

I have followed this product(Protandim) development for MANY, MANY, MANY years.

It started life as "Ependymin" and lots of initial hype...

SCIENTISTS are to test a miracle drug at Edinburgh University which could help people live to the age of 120.

The new pill is said to slow down the signs of ageing by repairing and
restoring the body's natural defences.

It contains a special protein produced by the brain which stimulates the
body into producing its own disease-fighting enzymes.

Scientists discovered the protein - ependymin - can repair the body's
defences by stimulating it into producing its own anti-oxidant compounds.

Anti-oxidants, which are found naturally in fruit, vegetables and tea, can
combat the damage caused to the body as it ages - but only if taken in huge
quantities.

Now researchers claim the new pill has the equivalent effect of eating 30lb
of fruit and vegetables every single day.

Its US-based creator, pharmaceutical giant CereMedix, says it will boost
average life expectancy from 75 years to 120 years.

Company president Steve Parkinson revealed the first clinical trials of the
drug were planned to be held in Edinburgh University next year.

"All we have to do is prove that it is safe to swallow. As it is just a
sympathetic replica of a natural substance found in the brain, we don't see
that as being an obstacle."

The trials are expected to test the drug on patients with lung disease to
see if it can repair the damage caused by smoking.

Professor Bill Magee, who is based at the university, said the drug could
have a huge effect on the treatment of diseases such as Alzheimer's and with
strokes, which are caused by oxidative stress
There was only one problem, make that ONE BIG PROBLEM.

It also helped abnormal cells grow VERY fast. A Very bad thing if you have cancer.

This whole thing was based upon a Masters Thesis.

The bottom line is that they had to get something on the market.

They found a good researcher that said that he could put together a combination of supplements that would do "almost" the same thing.

Thus we got Protandim and all the sales folks were happy.

Here is how THEY presented it...

How was Protandim discovered?

Protandim is the result of some breakthrough, "out of the box"
thinking. Lifeline was initially formed to license a synthetic peptide
that we believed might have some effect on the body's antioxidant
defense system.

*** After further research we had some great concerns about the
peptide,***

but it sensitized us to the key things that we needed to search for in
a solution. We wanted to find a natural alternative. Months of
extensive in-house research was spearheaded by one of our principals.
We poured through countless scientific studies and abstracts, looking
for the specific indicators we were interested in - things that may
have only been listed as an "aside" in the observations of studies
addressing other things. Soon, we developed the concept parameters and
initial formulation..."

I'm not sure, but I'd be interested to know if anyone's tried it! :)
