Anybody else have a problem with their feet and ankles swelling. I have a hard time with leg neuropathy, but the swelling just started yesterday. (Maybe I should lay of the salty peanuts.) Just wondering if any of you have swelling too. My right foot looks like it belongs on the pillsbury dough boy.

I have mild swelling some mornings, but it goes away once I get up and get moving.
If your ankles stay swollen, you should go see an MD, your BP may be out of whack. I hate this stupid disease.

He prescribed some compression hose for me which really help if you get them on as soon as you wake up before the legs get swollen. They are very difficult to get on and off, so if you can't get them on, the second best thing is to elevate your legs as much as possible during the day. I have found that even sitting in my recliner helps the blood flow back and my feet become less swollen. I also bought an adjustable bed which elevates my legs so they are above my heart and it is a big help in reducing the edema in my legs. gmi |

My feet used to swell and get red, a lot. Since I have been doing stretches throughout the day, it is much better.
Mine was simply from sitting too long in one position, wth my feet on the floor....now I put my feet up, periodically.

Oh, no fun. I'm sorry to hear about your feet feeling bad. Did you do anything different that brought this on? did you ice pack them or take an ibuprofen? Kim has had this and Ibuprofen helps her. Ken

Just give me two slices of Pizza and you will find my legs swollen by morning. It is too much salt, in my case. I rarely use salt or use any foods that are heavy in it.
Like a store bought can of soup. Wow! But forbidden food does taste the best, doesn't it. ![]() If I sit too long at the computer, and don't move around, the swelling will stay there. I must move, walk, stretch or do some sort of exercise to get the blood moving or I think it will normally pool at it's lowest level for me. If I move around and drink plenty of water to flush out the salt, it disappears by the next day. It is uncomfortable and the skin feels so tight. I hate when this happens. ![]() Some meds can cause this too, or illnesses. So if it is new, call the doctor, you know the drill BN. I hope you can get it to go away. Good luck to you.

I flip through the National MS Society's magazine and one month they said people w/MS can have this problem...
Their solution was to wear support hose... Take care. |

I have problems with my feet swelling during exacerbations. Once the exacerbation resolves so does the swelling.
Swelling/edema can have different causes: - Not drinking enough fluids - Too much sodium in your diet - Inactivity - weight gain - other health conditions such as diabetes and heart conditions for example.
