Yeah, that's how I knew when my TM attacks were on the way out-- when stopped being agonizing to put a sock or a shoe on. Although in my case it wasn't pain but severe numbness. Pain sucks a whole lot more in my book.

I went through quite a time a few months ago...I think I complained here
I never did know for sure what caused it, but it finally gradually got better. I'm guessing it was part of an exaserbation. I'm not one who should give advice on what goes in your mouth....because some days all the wrong things go in my mouth.... but... I do notice that when I drink a lot of water and try to not go overboard with salt, my body is much happier with me. I can't go with no salt...b ut when I have some salt I make sure to drink a LOT of water. Hope your swelling goes down soon! Bless your heart!

F2U, I find the same thing.
It is known that salt follows water out of the system. Some people when they swell our afraid to drink more water for fear of keeping more fluid. Usually it is the opposite. You drink plenty of water and the salt goes out with it, in the urine. Unless, of course, if you eat more salty foods and drinks again.
