Default Burning question!!!!! Oh, my feet

I know I have some neuropathy and have a lot of unusual sensations in my feet and legs but my feet really, really burn when my shoes are on. Was I meant to be a Kentuckian? I take Elavil 20 mg at night, it really helped a lot initially. One of my old drugs is Tegretol, so I occasionally take an extra at night but I think it works more just putting me to sleep. But what about during the day? Any suggestions?

I took Neurontin for awhile for burning sensations on/in my feet. It helped a little. I stopped taking it when I got pregnant and never started again. Now I wear sandals during the day and sleep with them out of the covers at night when my feet are bothering me. I'm sure people at work wonder why I'm wearing sandals in January! Good thing I live in CA. It comes and goes now on it's own schedule.
Take care,
Jean

Hi Doydie, I have heard that sticking 'op-site' dressings (the thin, clear plastic ones they use over IV sites etc) on your feet can ease the burning. I haven't tried it but have heard it works - if you can get your hands (oops, Feet ) on some.
