Default Swine Flu & Flu Shot

I'm curious about what your doctors are telling you to do with the upcoming flu season and the anticipated increase in swine flu cases. Are you being told to get the vaccine or not to get it?

I will NOT be getting it. If a breakout of the flu starts in my area I will be home bound. I got the german measles shot and got the german measles so, no shots for me

I have been told no live vaccines, the flu shot is not live though, I get one every year. In fact my doctor wants me to have it, as getting the flu could really mess me up!

I can't have the regular flu shot due to an egg allergy. I haven't looked into the swine flu shot yet. It is probably a "dead" virus like the regular flu shot.

If you are immunosuppressed, getting a flu shot can give you a reaction like Joan had. Most neuros recommend that people with autoimmune diseases get a flu shot. HOWEVER, you should ask your neuro and/or internist about it first. And in the condition you are in right now, I think staying home and resting is the best thing to do!!

I will not be getting any type of flu shot, as I am on CellCept and it interacts with the flu shots. I will just be very protective of my health!
