I get extreme allergies in the holiday season (allergic to "Holiday" scents such as cinnamon and cut pine trees) and will soon need to take allergy medicine before visiting any store. Now that I have MG, what is safe for me to use? I plan to discuss this with my doctor soon and wanted to know what everyone here had to say on the subject. I usually take Claritin in preparation for shopping and it prevents me from getting sick. (I wish for stores that don't have fragrance! That would solve the whole problem.)
Also what about cold medicines? I can only imagine that some of these are bad for MG. Thank you for any thoughts.

Hi,
I don't take any allergy medications, but have taken cold&flu medications. Some are rough for sure... others don't seem to effect me much, like everything MG, it is very individual. If I were you, I'd discuss this with your doctor and/or pharmacist. You'll probably want to avoid any medications with muscle relaxant properties (I find it hard to get up from a Nyquil sleep now-a-days.) I agree with you, I *hate* the layout of Sears with their fragrance dept right in the middle of the main entrance here. You have to run the gauntlet through people spraying crap everywhere. Scent free is a great policy... Best of luck Brian Quote:
