Everyone.. Thank you so much for your support!

Annie,

Yes, he did get IV antibiotics as he was going septic which is why he "crashed" his body is just not strong enough due to heart disease to withstand what was happening to him.

His stone is to large to "blast" and as of right now he has a cath in so he can urinate. We go to his primary care Dr on Monday and Urologist on Tuesday. They are discussing having to do surgery to remove it because of the size and location {it is 9mm and at the top of his kidney}

Default Yikes!

What a horrifying, frightening experience! I can't even imagine how you felt having to leave your husband to run upstairs and then back down again . . .

Thank goodness you were there, thank goodness you knew what to do. My husband died of cancer at 42 so I know those awful, oh God help us this is as bad as it can be moments.

If it's any comfort, I too had a kidney stone that was too big to remove and the surgery was easy because they don't actually have to cut you open, they just zap it with a laser. And believe it or not my stone was a monster 2 cm. My urologist said in all his career it was the largest he had ever seen
and it would probably be sheer indlulgent flattery to say he was 90 thousand years old. I mean he was *old*.

So, as I say if it was a breeze for me I'll bet it will be a breeze for your husband. Well, except for after the surgery I couldn't breathe and thought I was going to die (and really I'm surprised I didn't) because I didn't know I had mg. But hey, that's no problem for your husband.

Ally

Edited to say: Sorry, I just read your last post - didn't realize the stone is in an inconvenient place. Top of kidney? Or top of urethra in kidney? Is that why he wasn't in excruciating pain and didn't realize what was happening?

Wow Joanmarie,

thanks for sharing your story, I'm so glad your husband is doing ok now.
I've often wondered what would happen if I had to react in a bad situation, and your story has given me hope that I would do ok.

WOW!! What an amazing story!! I am so glad that you were there for your husband and that the mestinon gave you the strength to "beat" on him until the EMS arrived!

Hope they get that thing out fast and in a hurry. I know that can't be fun for him. OUCH!!

Hope all is well!

Incredible!! Ditto what so many of the other posts have already said. I hope something like this never happens to me as I doubt I would have been as cool headed as you! And yes indeed...so thankful you went back on Mestinon when you did. How could you know at the time that it was as much - if not more for your hubby - than for you!!

Default Hey

Hey,

Glad things worked out for you and your husband. God really does watch over the little things in our lives. He cares too much to ever forget us, and loves us too much to ever be mean.

May God bless you both,
Steve

Heart Hi Joanmarie!

Hey sweetie! Isn't it amazing how you handled that situation? God was truly watching over you!

You ARE NOT helpless! You saved a life! I would LOVE to be able to "beat" on Mike! LOL! Just kidding!

Having MG is hard and a pain in the butt, but YOU are living proof that we are not helpless!

How are YOU doing today? How is your hubby?

Love,
Erin
