Just for worldwide info, in France, the cost for a bottle of 20 brandname pills is presently (exchange rate for the dollar fluctuating...) 8.7 US$.
Of course, for myasthenics, the costs are fully covered by the state social security. Maurice. |

I dont pay for Mestinon. NHS, if I did the perscription charge would be £7.50 I think maybe slightly more or less.
However I would be willing to pay if I could find a Dr to diagnose me! Swings and roundabouts as they say. Love Rach |

I pay $10 for a month's supply (60mg x 3 daily) of the generic at Kroger. But now that my neuro has cut me to 30mg x 3 that will last me 2 months!

I pay $27.80 for 60 (60 mg) tablets. I don't have insurance and am paying full price. I called various pharmacies and found that the price varies greatly. Walgreens had the lowest price.

Mestinon Syrup: Three months supply (11-1/3 bottles) is $1,148.01.
Zero AFTER I've met my drug deductible. Who needs food anyway? Annie |

in the northeast, the average wholesale price of mestinon 60mg brand name, is 156.00 per 100, the typical pharmacy gets anywhere between 16-20 %off that price.
the cost for 100 of the generic is approx 22.00 (this is at retail pharmacy level, the chains do a bit better on purchasing) Most insurance companies discourage the purchase of brand name since its 8 times as much. and they will have a very small copay compared to brand name. I have what I consider good coverage , but the insurance company charges the patient the difference of non preferred brand name drugs. Ive only been using 1 tablet a day for months now, so my cost is very low. Im still working on my 2nd bottle of 100. the cost of the brand name mestinon syrup is 113.00 per pint, (16ozs)there is not generic syrup that I know of. since all insurance companies pay pharmacies well below the average wholesale price, as well as govt funded plans, if you pay cash for these drugs, it pays to speak with a pharmacy where prices arent set in stone, as a big chain store. small retailers are hurting, and for cash customers of large purchases, most are willing to slice off alot of profit to keep a customer, so although I understand how difficult it is for some to move around, it pays to really shop around if you have enough stores nearby. Hi Joan Marie,
My first prescription for Mestinon was the 60mg tablets that my insurance required I buy it in generic form. It was $5 for 45 pills, which was a one month supply. I am now on the syrup and my dose is 0.5 ml 3x a day. When I had insurance last year it was around $9 for a 30 day supply. When I lost my job I went through the Valeant program and I now get it for free. I found Walmart to be the cheapest, even though they had to order it. Good luck, Stephanie |
