OK, as many of you know I started back on Mestinon and here is my question of the month ..LOL
How much do you have to pay for your mestinon? 18 years ago it cost me over $300 a month, well I just got my EOB from my ins. and do you know how much the store charged them? $37.05 thats right.. 37 dollars, what I don't understand is why when I had no ins. I was paying over 300! and that was 18 years ago. Soooo if you don't mind answering.. what do you pay? |

I pay $0.00 (Canadian dollars) I have a great co-pay insurance plan where my insurance covers the lions share and my wife's covers the balance including dispensing fees. |

LOL, maybe I should ask Americans how much they pay, I forgot Canada has universal health care
I am lucky in the fact that I am covered under my husband V.A. medical coverage so I too pay nothing but I am still wondering about people who do have to pay what it cost. |

I pay for mestinon as a generic and my co-pay for generics is $20 for 90 days. Maybe 18 years ago, mestinon wasn't a generic yet? I don't know when it was initially developed and for the first 7 years, the drug companies can pretty much charge what they want. After the first 7 years, generic competition causes the price to go down. But, on second thought, I don't know if that would apply to mestinon since my understanding is that only one company manufactures it. Hmmmm???

Back in 01 my copay was $20 for the brand name and shortly after they started giving me the generic for $10. I don't know either when it became available in generic, but it would cost me $60 with my insurance for the brand name now.

I pay $35 for the 60 MG and $65 for 180 MGS a 30 day supply.
Of the 2, I much prefer the 180 MGS timespan......much better for me! LOL! Erin

I ususally just pay a $15 co-pay, but until my COBRA kicks in I have to pay cash...I just paid 181 bucks for 240 pills...I take 120 mg 4x daily...and you bet I will be getting reimbursed once my insurance gets fixed.

I take the generic. 90 pills cost me $43.85 flat cost - - no insurance. I shopped it across three different pharmacies and got three different prices. The hi - low variation was $10 (for the SAME drug!!).
